I was awoken by shouting, accompanied by a beautiful aroma. I quickly looked over to my mahogany night stand, reading 6:43 on the clock. I slipped into my grey Fenty slippers that were at the foot of my bed, and headed for the source of the screaming and delicious scent.

As I reached the kitchen, a groggy "good morning" escaped my lips as I took in my view. Omar and Aj were at the table eating and bickering about a sport fiasco, that seemingly had Aj "about to fucking go off" and Omar "almost kill himself"

"Like there's not hunger, poverty and death going on in the world" I rolled my eyes at him, eating a smirk from Aj and a loud "damn right" from June, as he playfully hit Omar upside the head.
I sat down as I began to revel in Omar's appearance. For twins we defiantly didn't look alike! All of my brothers clearly inherited daddy's genes, as their beautiful light chocolate skin glistened as they went about their meaningless discussion. Despite lacking my daddy's beautiful complexion, I inherited mama's wide hips and beautiful curly hair, which I thought quite made up for it.

I guided up the stairs swiftly to the bathroom before anyone else could occupy it, and put my phone into my shower playlist. As abracadabra's 'Valentine' played through the speaker, as I sang along whilst the warm water cascaded down my soft skin.

"I'll love you to the the world and back, I'll love you to the world and back" I repeated as I hopped out of the relaxing shower and went to my room to get dressed. I was in such a good mood this morning that the "fucking finally" I heard escape Aj's mouth as I exited the bathroom didn't earn him a well-deserved slap.

I opened the curtains in my room, exposing myself to the blinding sun outside. This isn't a regular occurrence here, so I thought I'd make the most of it, slipping on a grey sipped up crop top, a pair of denim shorts and some wolf grey Jordan's.

I walked out kissing June on the cheek and taking some money from his hand, before knocking on augusts door. He opened the door with a smile, widening it to let me in. "Where's mama Sheila" I smiled, remembering the tears that fell from her bright, brown eyes the first time I called her that.

It was not long after we moved out here and truth be told, I did see her as a mother figure. To my understanding, the feeling is mutual as she has countlessly recited to me that I was the daughter she never had, and that I was an angel sent from heaven.
"Out early , hospital called at 5 am, emergency I'm guessing" august said with his mouth full of a messily made sandwich, a concoction if only god knows what.

I just smiled at him in awe, even with his mannerisms out the window, his shirt untucked, his shoes untied and his hair wild and uncombed, he was still beautiful. He must have caught on as he gave me a swift wink before gliding his long legs up the stairs to finish assembling his outfit.

I sat on the couch I have familiarised myself with for the most part of 11 years, and admired this family. They took us in and loved us when our blood relatives still held the anger they had from over 27 years ago. I admired mama Sheila so much, she really is the epitome of hope. New Orleans may chew up and spit out all its inhabitants, breaking havoc on anyone in the path of its destruction- but not her. She was too strong for it.

"Ready to go?" Asked august standing in front of me looking like a damn snack. Butterflies immediately erupted in the pit of my stomach by just looking at him. As I rose to my feet I realised how small I was in comparison to him.

My small 5'6 figure really was in no way a comparison to his tall 6'3 stance. He must see the world in a complete different perspective with his head all the way up in the damn clouds. I laughed to myself as gave me a crazy look. I shrugged him off with a smirk, knowing we'd erupt in a fit of laughter if I had told him what I was thinking.

His voice placed a wedge in the clockwork of my brain, stopping the wheels from spinning. All I could think about was how the beautiful accent made the words glide and dance off of his tongue no matter if he were cursing or singing.

"Oh, and maya" he stopped in his tracks as I was about to reach the door.
"What August" I laughed at his strange behaviour.

"You forgot something" he smirked before pulling me by my waist into him, and meeting my lips with his. We kissed for what felt like eternity as I wrapped my arms around his neck whilst he held my cheek to deepen the kiss. Our tongues danced along each other and there was so much passion and love, it was almost overbearing- I loved every second of it.

"We'll finish this later" he winked as he heard Aven nikes crash against the stairs as he descended, and we all compiled into the grey Aston Martin parked in August's front garden.
