Midnight watched as her mother disappeared into thin air. As she disappeared Stormclaw's and Darkocean's wounds were healed. Midnight stood frozen as she stared at the two toms in front of her. Darkocean stepped towards Midnight and Stormclaw growled. "It's okay... I just wanted to apologize. Your father made me believe that you were a murderer. I can see now that I was wrong."

"I forgive you. Tank was a very manipulative tom."

"I'm glad you forgive me... and don't worry- I won't tell anycat about you and Stormclaw. Consider that as a gift along with my apology. I can see clearly that you two would do anything for eachother. I should've never threatened to break that bond."

Before Midnight could reply Darkocean spun around and raced back to his camp. Midnight looked to Stormclaw. He slowly walked up to Midnight and rested his head on her shoulder. She did the same. Stormclaw murmured, "I thought I lost you."

"When you thought I was gone... What were you thinking?"

"I thought... I thought my life would never be the same. I thought I'd be trapped in a life of depression and longing."

"Longing?"

"Longing to see you again."

"Stormclaw... What happens now? The threat is gone."

"We live in peace. We can still visit eachother every night."

"Okay. Then, I'll see you tomorrow night. I love you."

"I love you too."

Midnight walked back into the camp. The moon was high overhead. Even though she had been healed by her mother, she felt sore and mentally exhausted. Lionstar approached her with a look of concern and slight anger. "Where have you been?"

Midnight hadn't thought of this so she mumbled the best reply that came to mind. "Uh... she-cat problems."

An awkward look crossed his face. "Huh. Suddenly, I regret asking. Have a good night, Midnight." Lionstar turned around and hurried away to his den.

Midnight went into the warrior den and she curled up into a ball. Finally... She could rest in peace. No more having to worry about Tank.

Midnight trekked through the thick snow underpaw. It had been four moons since her father had died. Midnight panted as she dragged herself through the snow in the dark. Finally, after an exhausting trek she made it to the Water Clan border. Stormclaw was there and he looked at her with concern. "This is the last time we're meeting before our kits are born."

"I know I shouldn't be out of camp but I miss you every second I can't see you."

"I miss you too... When are they coming?"

"Any day now. What about names?"

"I'll let you decide."

"You sure?"

"Of course."

Midnight watched as her three kits practiced battle moves with their mentors. Thunderpaw was a tom with green eyes and a grey pelt. Nightpaw was a black she-cat with green eyes. Shadepaw was a grey tom with blue eyes. Midnight continued to visit Stormclaw every night. Her kits didn't know who their father was. Most cats in camp assumed they were Lionstar's. Midnight was okay with that. It hurt when she had to explain to her kits that their father didn't want to be in a relationship with them. That wasn't true though. Stormclaw was desperate to see them. So, Midnight felt like tonight was the night. She would surprise him by bringing the kits.

Finally, it was the end of the day and Midnight crept into the apprentice's den. She nosed her kits awake and they silently left the den. "Where are we going?" Shadepaw whispered.

Once they were outside of camp Midnight spoke. "I have to admit something to you... Your father is a... a Water Clan warrior. He loves you all very much and has always wanted to meet you."

"Isn't that against the warrior code?" Nightpaw squeaked.

"Yes, which is why we must keep this a secret."

"Okay." Thunderpaw mumbled. Her other two kits nodded.

Midnight sat down by the Water Clan border and waited for Stormclaw. Once he arrived Midnight stood and smiled happily. She looked to her kits who smiled shyly. Stormclaw stood in front of them with a hopeful gleam in his eyes. "Hi, I'm Stormclaw... Your dad." He waited nervously for their reaction.

"Dad!" They all squealed as they leaped on him.

Midnight purred. Her family was together and she was safe. This was all she could ever ask for.
