Talk about writers block! Whatever... I normally know exactly what I want to happen in the next chapter but it took me forever to think of what to do with this chapter. Don't judge me! 😉

Midnight quickly walked beside Lionstar. They were headed to the gathering. Midnight was excited to see Stormclaw! Lionstar snapped her out of her thoughts. "I haven't gotten a chance to just chat with you. How's it going?"

"Great! I love being a warrior! I'm so glad you let me join your Clan."

"No need to thank me. Really. You're a great warrior and I'm happy to have you here as a warrior."

"Thanks, Lionstar. It means a lot coming from you."

He chuckled and shoved her playfully. "You act as if I'm an elder to you! I'm your age actually."

"Oh, my bad." Midnight laughed. Maybe I shouldn't have been so formal! I probably seemed like a weirdo! Midnight smirked to herself.

"What are you smirking about?"

"Heh, I was thinking about how I could totally kick your tail in a fight!" She lashed her tail playfully.

"Oh, yeah? You and I, sun high. Meet me in the center if the camp and we can go find a clearing to show who's the best! You are talking to a leader you know?"

"What ever happened to not being formal?"

"You've got me there!"

Midnight stayed by Lionstar's side as they padded into the clearing. "See yah later, Lionstar."

"Bye."

Midnight walked away from him and scanned over the crowd of Water Clan cats. She purred once she saw Stormclaw. His green eyes met her blue ones and he smiled to her as he stood up. "Hi, Stormclaw."

"Hey, Midnight. I missed you."

"Ha, it hasn't been that long." That was the subtlest way that Midnight could mention their meetings in the night.

"Oh, I know. Although... one day without you feels like a whole season! I swear... Water Clan has been so quiet. Well, except for Darkocean joining us."

"Oh, that reminds me! Is he here? I wanna meet him." Midnight lied. She definitely did not want to meet him. Unless it actually was just some rogue and not... him.

"He couldn't come today. He got a bit sick so he decided to stay in camp."

"Oh, maybe next time."

"Yep." He lowered his voice. "Don't forget to meet me tomorrow night. I have something special planned."

Midnight purred. "I would never forget."

Midnight stopped talking once Lakestar began the meeting. "Water Clan is doing good. We have a new warrior. His name is Darkocean. Sadly, he could not make it to today's gathering due to not feeling his best. He should be attending the next gathering though. You all can meet him then."

Cats murmured in curious excitement as Lionstar began talking. "Fire Clan is well. Midnight has become a warrior. Maplepaw was injured by a monster but is recovering quickly. She should be perfectly fine."

Lakestar nodded. "Then, that concludes this gathering."

Midnight looked to Stormclaw. "I'll see you to tomorrow." She made sure to whisper.

"Of course. Bye, Midnight."

Midnight sat nervously at the center of the camp. Maybe this wasn't such a great idea! He's the leader for Star Clan's sake! Midnight stood once she saw Lionstar approach. "Ready?" He asked.

"I was born ready!" Midnight forced out some confidence.

Lionstar led Midnight out of the camp and paused in a clearing while looking around. "It's prefect."

"Should we start now?"

"Scared?" He smirked.

"Oh, I'm just making sure you're ready to wake up it the medacine cat den."

"Let's see what you've got."

"Remember... no claws!"

"Duh."

The two cats slowly circled eachother. Midnight had learned one thing. Don't strike first! Lionstar leapt for her but she quickly rolled over on her back and kicked him up. He burst out laughing once he landed in a bush near by. "Good move!" He called as he dragged himself from the bush.

"We're just warming up."

Midnight leapt for him but he was ready this time. He dodged then slammed her to the ground. "Give up?"

"No way."

Midnight rolled so that she was on top but then stepped off. Lionstar stood up almost immediately. Just as planned. Midnight smirked. She swiped out his back paws and he fell down with a thud. Lionstar glared at her and stood again. "You're going down!"

***

Midnight huffed as she headed back to camp with Lionstar. Of course Lionstar ended up kicking her tail. Yet, she had definitely worn him out. He yawned and his paws dragged a bit. Midnight wasn't tired. How could she be? She was so eager to see what Stormclaw had planned! Soon they were in camp and Lionstar paused. "Midnight?"

"Hm?"

"I had fun today. Let's do it again some time."

"Definitely."

"Goodnight, Midnight."

"Goodnight!"

Midnight went to the warriors' den and she sat anxiously in her nest as she waited for the moon to rise.

Okay... so this was short. But... oh well! Just read and enjoy. I seriously have a problem with writing short af chapters! 😂
