"Mom! Look! I finished!" I called, running down the stairs with the white infinity scarf in my hand.

"Wow! It's beautiful Kira!" My mom smiled, taking it carefully, smiling at me.

"Thanks! It's really soft isn't it?" I rubbed a piece between my fingers.

"Yeah, it is." She handed it back to me.

There was a knock at the door and my little sister ran to open it. One of my friends, Tamada walked in.

"Hey Tamada." I smiled over at him.

"Hey Kira, we're playing tag, want to come?" He grinned, patting my little sister's head.

"Sure!" I put on the scarf and walked over to him.

"Can I play too?" My little sister, Kiki asked.

"Course!" Tamada winked at her.

Kiki had a crush on Tamada and she made me swear not to tell him. Even though she made it obvious. I thought it was cute, even though she was almost 7 years younger than him. We left, I said bye to mom and Kiki grabbed Tamada's hand. We both laughed quietly to one another.

"You're it!" I poked Oka, laughing.

She turned, a mischievous grin edging her lips and she lightly smacked my back. I groaned, twisting around again. But before I could tap her the second time, a loud crash rumbled through the town.

"What was that?" Oka asked, turning her head in the direction of the crash.

"I don't know." I squinted my eyes, trying to focus.

Kiki ran over to me and hugged my arm, she was shaking. Tamada jogged over to stand with us.

"Did you hear that?" He asked.

"Yeah." I nodded.

Suddenly, the ground started shaking at an uneven tempo. I looked up from Kiki and saw them. Hideous giants, roaming through the streets. Their creepy frozen smiles, frowns and gaping mouths plastered on their faces.

"T-titans..." I barely uttered.

"Kira! I'm scared!" Kiki whined.

"I-it's okay...let's just...," I was cut off by loud footsteps growing in my ears.

We all looked to our right in unison to see a tall, skinless titan looming over us. I picked up Kiki and ran. Tamada following behind me. Oka was nowhere to be seen however. I stopped to look back. She was frozen in fear and the titan picked her up, opened it's mouth. All I could do was cover Kiki's eyes.

"OKA!" Tamada screamed.

She looked to me with fear in her eyes. It seemed like time froze and a single tear rolled down her cheek.

"I guess this is goodbye." She mouthed, a small, forgiving smile growing on her face and the titan closed it's mouth, sending Oka's blood flying.

"I'm so sorry..." I whispered, as tears rolled down my own face and I continued to run, Kiki crying softly in my arms.

"Kiki!" My mom grabbed me and pulled me into a hug.

We had made it to the gate, people were shoving through the arch and soldiers stood behind, firing cannons at the giants. Then they walked back and a fat guy started pushing a giant wagon into the gate. It didn't fit.

"Let the people through first!" I heard one woman demand.

"No way, this luggage is worth more than you make in a week!" The fat man argued.

But then everyone went silent. Fast, heavy footsteps echoing from the street behind us. I froze, clutching Kiki to my side. A short-haired titan charged around the corner, kicked a soldier walking towards us and got so close before falling to the ground.

My heart stopped. Only my own breathing could be heard in my ears. I focused on the figure standing on the titan. She was tall, with short black hair and pale skin. Her eyes looked lifeless almost and she was wearing a red scarf along with the military uniform.

"Ah, finally a soldier! Come on, you tell them! Help us push this through." The fat guy smirked.

"All my friends are risking their lives out there because all of the occupants haven't evacuated yet." The girl replied, pointing her sword back to the town.

I blurred out the rest of the conversation between the two. I mainly focused on the decaying titan body in front of us. It was burning away, so quickly too.

The girl put her sword to the fat guy's throat, catching my attention.

"I don't get it, how can a corpse talk?" She asked.

The fat guy then demanded the wagon to be pulled back out and we all flooded through.

"Thank you!" Kiki called to the girl before following the group through.

The girl gave Kiki a soft smile and then looked at me. We stared at each other for a few minutes before she gave me a nod and then flew off on her gear. What an amazing person.
