Lost in the Game. A Wade, Patrick and Jp story.

To The Gate!

"Alright guys let's get moving!" Wade stated as they started into the woods. It was a few seconds before Wade stoped and looked at Patrick. Who was giving him a small know it all smile.

"Maybe you should be in the front." Wade chuckled awkwardly.

"Really? I had no idea!" Patrick laughed as he walked past Wade.

"Sassy pants." JP mumbled. Wade just rolled his eyes and shook his head but chuckled nun the less.

"How far is it to the gate?" JP asked. Patrick stoped when he reached the top of a hill and looked down at his friends.

"In the game only a few minutes but here it maybe more, I'm not really sure."

"Are you sure we are going the right way?" Wade laughed. Patrick just gave him an annoyed look.

"Yes Wade." Patrick continued down the other side of the hill and followed the path.

"I swear you guys are like a married couple." JP joked.

"I WANT A DEVORS!" Patrick yelled over his shoulder.

"Get us out of here and I'll gladly divorce you!" Wade yelled back but was laughing in the processes.

"Divorce me?! I'm divorcing you!"

"HA! You wish!"

This went on back and forth for a few minutes. The friends cracked jokes and messed with each other enough that they had almost forgotten about the trouble they were in. But sadly the joy didn't last long.

"Hey! I think I recognize this area." Wade said excitedly.

"We're almost there right?"

"Yea just up ahead." Patrick answered. Suddenly Wade ran past Patrick and through some trees.

"Wade! Don't be an idiot! The characters should never split up!" Patrick yelled after him. Wade didn't answer at first but then his scream broke the silence.

"Wade!!" Patrick and JP started to run towards the scream but was soon stoped by a force. Well more like ran into Wade. Before Patrick knew it he face planted against Wad's chest and hit the ground.

"What the heck man?" Patrick fussed as he rubbed his head.

"Why did you yell?"

"B-b-b" Wade stuttered.

"Balloons?" JP asked. Wade looks up at JP and then looked back down at the ground obviously thinking. He then took a deep breath and got up helping Patrick in the process.

"Before I say anything Patrick can you go around there and tell me what you see. I may have just over reacted before I actually got a good look."

"What do you think you saw?"

"Just- ... please?" Patrick slowly nodded and started for the trees.

"I'll go too." JP said as he started to follow Patrick.

"No!" Wade yelled as he stuck his hand out and put it on JP's chest. JP looked at him confused but said nothing . Patrick disappeared through some trees that were just to the right of the path. He looked around trying to see what would of scared Wade so bad. At the same time he didn't want to know. He turned his head then froze, all the color draining out of his face. He slowly started towards the lump in the leafs but he didn't need to see it better. He was already sure what it was.

Wade stood there with JP. He hadn't looked up since Patrick left. He was listening for his return. Waiting for him to come back and tell him that everything he saw was just a pile of leaves or a dear or... something. He jumped when he heard leafs crunch under foot. He looked up and saw Patrick slowly walking back. The look on his face made his heart sink.

"So it's exactly what I though." Patrick didn't answer as he walked up to them. He starred at nothing in particles deep in his own thought.

"Patrick." Patrick flinched and looked up looking from JP to Wade like he just noticed they were there.

"W-what?"

"What was it?"

"Oh...a....ah a body."

"What?!" JP yelled his eyes wide open. Wade sighed loudly and rubbed his neck.

"W-wade...." Patrick stuttered trying to say something else.

"Are you sure it was real?"

"Y-yes but-"

"H-how... b-but w-we" JP stuttered.

"Wade." Patrick tried to get Wad's attention but he was having difficult getting his words out. It didn't matter anyways Wade wasn't paying attention to Patrick anymore he was looking at JP. JP was the youngest in there group and that is why he hadn't let him go with Patrick. JP was nineteen but he still was young. Wade just didn't want to ruin the innocence that is JP.

"W-Wade." Patrick shook Wade's arm." Wade finally looked at him. Wade was shock to see tears in Patrick's eyes. Suddenly he felt guilty. He was trying to protect JP and sent Patrick instead because Wade didn't want to see it.

"I'm sorry Patrick what is it?"

"I-it w-was...." Patrick swallowed down a sob and took a breath.

"It w-was G-Gar."
