A wave of sudden panic hit me as I heard the-very loud-ringing of my phone, right next to my ear. Opening one of my eyes by an inch, I swiped on my phone and dismissed the alarm. I closed my eye soon after that. I hated alarms. They always scared the shit out of me. That sudden, loud ringing would always make me anxious as hell. However, I still needed to use them. Specifically, because no one else would really bother to wake me up. Especially during holidays. So I would have to compromise and set different alarms during different times to make sure I don't wake up at night.

Speaking of which...I wonder which one went off, right now. I do remember switching off a few before, too...Don't tell me...

My eyes snapped open, not fully though because they felt incredibly heavy. I grabbed my phone from my side and squinted when the bright light shone in my eyes.

17:05PM

Fuck.

Letting out a noise of annoyance, I buried my head in my pillow. Why the heck was it so late already?

I didn't even get enough sleep.

Turning on my back, I looked up at the ceiling; a sigh escaping me. To further explain my 'different alarms' situation, I would say, that it's not easy at all to wake up with just one alarm. I mean, in a way it is, but it's satisfying as hell when you switch one off and go back to sleep. So, I came up with the idea to have a total of three alarms ring throughout my slumber.

One would ring at 3pm, the second at 4pm, and the last at 5pm. I also went ahead and added different titles to them. Waking around 3-4 was okay. But waking up at 5-or later-meant death.

It was pretty rare to wake up that late, and would only happen if I went to sleep incredibly late. Which in my defense, was 10AM. Yeah, I know. A pretty screwed up routine. But school was over. Which meant freedom, to some extent.

With another sigh, I pulled myself up and sat up on the bed, cross legged. Right next to my legs, was sleeping another figure. A ginger fur-ball, to be more exact. I smiled at it's cuteness, giving it light pets. When the fur-ball realized I had finally woken up. It opened it's eyes, stretched and ran towards the cupboard. There was one downfall to this sleeping schedule. His meal times would be screwed up too.

I got off my bed and walked over towards the cupboard, taking out the pack of cat-food and pouring it in his bowl. As soon as I did so, he started to devour the food. I looked at him in guilt, sitting down and petting him while he ate.

"I'm so sorry, Ace. You must've been really hungry.", I said, feeling incredibly bad. Usually, when he would get hungry and couldn't take it any more, he would wake me up by headbutting me and meowing excessively. It was weird that he didn't do that this time.

After making sure he was fed properly, I went ahead and took a quick shower. Being ready for the day-or should I say night-I headed towards the kitchen, where my mom was cooking something and my dad was sitting at the dining table, working on his laptop.
