chapter 1

As i walked onto the balcony to get some fresh air I heard someone come outside to join me and instantly recognised the footsteps. It was Edward. "Lana. I'm so proud of you. I mean it only took you a couple of months to keep your blood lust under control and I think that's something to celebrate. I'm taking you on a hunting trip with Emmett and Jaspar." He leaned against the balcony and looked over at me, smiling crookedly. "That sounds like a very good idea. I'm really thirsty and was just about to leave. Please tell me you're off soon." I replied and looked back at him. "Yeah we are all set. We're just waiting for Charlie to come and pick up Renesme." I nodded and carried on looking into the forest in front of us.

I had only joined the Cullens and started to adapt to their lifestyle a couple of months ago when I came to help them in 'defeating' the Volturi and saw how close they were as a family. I decided I needed people to rely on as I had been travelling as a rogue vampire all my life. Carlisle and his family were more than happy to accept me into their coven. I had to be careful around humans and I had been spending all my days either at home or hunting in the forest. I was proud to say that I could finally apply for a job at forks high school.

I was turned in the 1500s and I was turned at the age of 21. I decided that in Forks I was going to try and get a job teaching history at the high school. Like Edward, Alice and Bella I also had a special power. Mine was copying. I could copy anybodies power just by touching them. I had accumulated many powers over my time but my favourite was hypnosis. This had come in handy for the Cullens as I had hypnotised every human that knew the Cullens into thinking that the Cullens had only just moved to Forks.

I turned to Edward to say something but quickly I stiffened up and stopped breathing. There was an irresistible smell coming from downstairs and it took everything in me to not run down there and tear whoever it was to pieces. I whimpered and Edward looked at me in worry. He shouted Jaspar. Jaspar had helped me the most in overcoming my cravings by controlling my emotions but also by just being him. I definitely got along with him the best out of all the Cullens. I was concentrating on the voices downstairs trying to figure out who i was drawn to so much. I felt Jaspars arms wrap around me. I knew he was trying to make sure I wasn't going to run down there. "Don't think about it. Look at me." I looked into his golden eyes but I couldn't help a low growl from coming out of my mouth.

I pushed Jaspar off me and growled. I could feel my teeth digging into my lips and before I could do anything crazy I jumped off the balcony and landed at the top of a tree before I jumped down onto the forest floor. I looked back to the balcony to see Jaspar and Edward staring at me. I looked downstairs and saw the persons blood that had appealed to me so much was....Charlie Swan.
