Octavia's POV:

I was exhausted. Nurses had been working on me for a day. After they removed the pole, they had to make sure that it hadn't hit anything important. But soon enough I was all stitched up and in less pain. Too bad they ran out of pain killers before I got here.

I had finally started to doze off, because I sent Lincoln, Zoran, and Clark to go get some rest. They refused to sleep till they knew I was gonna be okay. It was really sweet. But I was interrupted by an loud scream next to me. A new girl, around my age, was currently having a screwdriver taken out of her back. I felt sorry for her, because I completely understood the pain she was in.

She was lying on her stomach looking at me with desperate eyes. I couldn't make the pain stop. So I reached over and held her hand. She managed to stop screaming, but she was gripping my hand extremely tightly.

2 hours later...

The girl next to me has been resting after her operation. But I noticed her eyes were starting to flutter open.

"Hey, are you feeling better?" I asked the girl.

"Yes, thank you. Sorry for practicality pulling your hand off," I smiled and chuckled at her answer. But then that triggered my pain, and I began coughing again.

"So what happened to you?" The girl asked me after I stopped coughing.

"A stop sign pole went through my chest," I replied. I decided that my sprained wrist, slight concussion, and bruised up legs weren't worth mentioning.

"Geez that sucks. I just got that screwdriver in my back. Cause I was working at my mechanic garage when the tsunamis hit," so she was a mechanic.

We didn't talk much after that. We were both very tired, even though we couldn't sleep much. We simply enjoyed each other's company.

"I'm Octavia by the way," I blurted out when I realized she hadn't told me her name.

   "Raven," she said in response.
