Song for this chapter - Mad World by Gary Jules

All of Me - John Legend

I left.

I actually left.

I pull my suitcase down the street, its wheels making an obnoxious sound as it flies through each crack on the pavement.

This looks normal. A teenage girl, walking down the road in the middle of the night, carrying a loud suitcase.

Sure.

I don't really have a plan. I don't know what to do. I have no idea why I chose to do this.

I just keep walking.

Before I realise, I'm at Adelie's house.

I call her, standing outside her house - freezing. She answers on the third ring.

Typical teenage girl.

"Hello?", I hear her confused voice.

"Hey, um.. Ade?"

"Yeah..."

"I'm kinda outside your house"

"What the..."

I hear steps and the door is opened to reveal Adelie. Who didn't look tired at all.

"Hey... so?", she began. Looking like she didn't want me there at all.

"You left?", she adds.

Well na, Adelie. I just casually stroll around with my belongings in a suitcase in the middle of the night.

"Yup", I say, popping the 'p'.

She just nodded. What had come over her?

"I was... well, wondering if maybe I could stay? Just for the night. I don't have any where else..."

"Oh"

What the hell?

The Adelie I know, well knew, would say yes, hug me and ask what's wrong.

This one doesn't even want to see me.

"I would love to.."

Would you now.

"But"

Of course.

"Your parents would come here first"

Ah. Of course. Well, if they cared - that is.

"I don't think you shou - "

"Adellliiiiieeee!", a voice calls from behind her.

"Who's there? We can't pause this film forever! I wanna see what happens to Elise!", the voice adds.

"Uh... coming! Hold on", she replies. Her eyes wide and cheeks flushed. What is going on here...

I hear whispers from the place that the calls for Adelie had been and then footsteps. Looks like the unknown girl, or girls, were coming.

"God, Ade. What is holding you!", the voice says as it makes its way down the stairs.

Two faces slowly appears in the light and I gulp.

No.

How could she?

I look over to Adelie. Her face is pink and her eyes won't meet mine.

That traitor.

I shake my head.

"Wow", I spit before turning around and leaving Adelie and her new best friends: Melissa and Georgia.

______________

I sighed, totally pissed off, as I walked down the road to god knows where.

After getting stares from people in the street, I find a hotel.

It wasn't a hotel that I'd usually find myself... it was way to fancy - but I had no other choice.

I walk towards the sleek, automatic gold doors and enter absolute heaven. My Converse squeak slightly on the marble floor as I make my way towards the reception; whilst taking in the beauty of the lobby.

Everything was placed to the upmost precise detail.

"Hello, ma'am. Welcome to The Palace Hotel"

I smile at the worker behind the desk. A guy, probably in his late 20's, with sleek brown hair.

I tell him that I'd like a single room for three days and gave him my card.

My parents pay for it, so I don't care how much it costs - let's hope they don't cut it off though.

"We do not give refunds for rooms, a complimentary breakfast is served for all of your days", he hands me a fancy paper wallet, "Here is your card key. You are in room 807, 8th floor".

I thank him and make my way to the two lifts by the counter.

I press the up button and enter the lift, dragging my bags. The man at the desk had said that they had nobody to bring my bags up at the moment, but he'd do it.

I said no, I was fine on my own. Plus, he looked a bit sketchy.

I hum along to the jazzy elevator music and make my way to my room.

It is gorgeous.

There is a king-sized bed in the middle of the room, complete with a gold lined comforter and matching pillows. There is a mahogany bedside table and a matching desk.

I collapse onto the bed and switch the plasma screene tv on. I flick through channels until I fall asleep.

_______________

I wake up to see a beautiful room, I smile at the bright light creeping through the blinds...

Wait - where am I?

I gasp and jump out of the bed. Suddenly, the memories flood my brain again.

Well.

I realise that I'm still wearing my clothes from yesterday and decide to shower and change.

I wear a cropped, knitted white jumper with black, high waisted skinny jeans. I slip into my black Converse high tops and put my hair into a messy bun. I only apply little concealer, eye liner and mascara before grabbing my phone, card key and slipping out of the room.

I waltz to the lobby and see the dining area. My stomach rumbles at the smell of gorgeous breakfast. I can smell pancakes, syrup, muffins, coffee - oh my gosh.

I walk to the buffet and grab literally everything I see. I almost eat it all in the line for pancakes - but I resist.

I sit down with a plate full of fruit, hash browns, a blueberry muffin, pancakes, toast, waffles and sausages.

But oh no, that's not all.

I have another bowl full of coco pops, a glass of orange juice and a mug of coffee.

Oh yeah.

I tuck straight into my meal and am so focused on finishing my breakfast.

After making my way through my food, hear someone call my name. I shake it off before putting another fork full of pancake into my mouth.

"Amelia?", the voice calls again. I look up to see where it was coming from and suddenly lose my appetite.

Oh my god.

Louis.
