Not Up To Par

She gave him her heart.

He picked it up,

Turned it in the light,

Squeezed it,

Bounced it off the ground,

Caught it,

Rinsed it with her tears,

Stretched it,

And just when you thought she had had enough,

He tore it.

He then picked up another,

Gave it one glance,

Wore a satisfied smile,

And walked away;

Needless to say,

Her heart didn’t pass the test.

Painful to watch,

How gentle he was with the rest.
