As soon as we arrived at our destination, I stared at Amélie. She had to be joking. We were on top of the school and she wanted me to scale down to the janitor's room just to grab her ruby colored ponytail that she had given to one of her old friends. She said, and I quote, "Cela serait charmant!". Whatever that meant. There was only one problem.

Did I mention I was afraid of heights?

Amélie does the scaling and whatnot. She's used to that. That's what makes her special. That's why she is classified as Widowmaker. Yeah. Not anything surprising, huh?

I looked at her and shook my head as well as made the normal "X" with my hands. She. Was. Crazy.

Amélie looked at me with her pitiful eyes and pouted. "Chérie...please? Je commence."

I continued to walk backward before I climbed down the ladder to get off the roof. Why couldn't she just ask the janitor for it is way beyond me. Besides, I don't think that's what she wanted.

As soon as I got off the roof, Kamine and Ryo were there waiting for me.

The two toned haired Ryo grabbed me and squeezed tightly.

"Pyra! Du er okay!"

I stared at her. All the languages I didn't understand. All these people came from different places and spoke English as much as they could. It was nice a few of them stuck to their original language because it created such cute accents.

' Kamine ended up hitting her sister and began speaking what I believed was Dutch or German. I stood there listening to them argue as I looked around the schoolyard. That's when I saw him. The white haired boy with heterochromia eyes. One dark green and the other a bright blue. I've never seen him before but boy, did I want to.

As the sisters continued to fight, I tapped on Kamine and pointed.

"Him." I said with my raspy Australian-American accent. "Who is he?"

                                                                                                ~♀~

Of course I had to ask the girls that because they would know but apparently not which made him a new student. A student I had to meet. It wasn't like in those fairy tales with "love at first sight". No, it was "friends or frenemies at first sight". I wanted to know this kid. He seemed like an interesting character. Walking around all alone, I mean.

I continued to watch this boy, sneaking around, learning his schedule.

Once lunch rolled around on Wednesday, I finally saw him again. He was sitting outside with a cold packed lunch which was strange around here during the winter or anytime. He was all by himself and scowling at the ones who dared to try and sit beside him.

I grabbed my lunch and headed outside, my path directed towards him. As soon as I set my tray down he scowled. I held up my hand and clicked play on my phone causing Ryo's voice to ring out once more.

"Listen, I hate people. You hate people. We make a great team. Now suck it up and eat your lunch in silence just like I am."

I sat the phone down beside my tray before sitting down myself. I looked at the boy as his eyes were glued to my phone. I rolled my eyes and began eating my fish and chips. I saw him stare at my phone while he unconsciously to eat his food which seemed to be leftover cold pizza. This kid was strange because after he ate, he grabbed his ice pack and pressed it against his neck.

"I was just cool until you walked up." He muttered to me.

I stared at him blankly as I stood up and grabbed my phone. Cool? Did this kid like the cold? I didn't know but I soon will.

After lunch I continued to follow him before Hana and her crew appeared.

"Jjikki!" I heard her call me as I walked past.

It was strange to me how I understood only some of the languages around here. And Hana's being one. Scum. One simple word she hoped would tick me off but, sadly it didn't.

For the rest of the day, classes dragged on. Once the final bell rang, I mad dashed to the front of the school to exit the building for the day.

As I opened the door, I saw Kamine and Ryo talking to the white haired boy. I skidded to a stop and stared at them as the wrapped one arm around his shoulders.

Kamine tossed her hair and smirked as she saw my surprised expression with my blushing cheeks.

"Pyra, meet Rae. He can control ice."

I looked to Rae and then to Ryo.

Ryo giggled and smiled before she spoke in her native language.

"Han er japansk!"

I pulled out my phone and typed quickly and pressed play, the multi colored hair girl hearing her voice sing out.

"I'm sorry, mate. He's what?"

Kamine hit Ryo's elbow before Rae stepped forward and held out his hand to me.

"I'm Rae Schnee. I control ice and I'm Japanese."

I grabbed his hand and steam instantly began to rise as we shook. I typed once again and held it out. This time a feminine Australian voice came out

"I'm Pyra Steele. You know like pyro but with an "a". I'm human and Australian."

He glared at me with his one blue eye and one green eye and smirked.

"Your body temperature says otherwise, Pyra. I've never met a human with such a high internal body temperature."

I stared at him. Excuse me? What!?
