I woke up that morning not even remembering going to bed. I was a little disoriented as I was unfamiliar with my surroundings. I was on someone's couch with a throbbing headache. It took me awhile to finally get my eyes open as the bright sun light shining through the windows was blinding and hurt my head even more. While adjusting to the brightness, it finally hit me. I was at Amelia's house! I had forgotten she brought me here after Jake's party. Ahh Jake's party, always results in my downfall. I laughed to myself realizing I need to stop going to his house because I always end up a mess. Slowly, everything started to come back to me. Especially last night in the kitchen. That was the clearest memory and I was grateful for that because that's not something anyone wants to forget. Especially her soft, plump lips. That had to be the best part of the evening. But the last thing I remember was that kiss, and I was barely drunk when it happened so maybe my euphoria of it all blacked out how I got back on the couch.
I heard my phone vibrating underneath my head and reached around to grab it. There was about six texts from Daniel asking me where I was and if I was okay. He's like a mom, so overprotective. I wasn't even sure he knew I was at the party, after all he drank more than me.
Yea I'm good, I went home with a friend, how are you?
Shitty
I laughed at his response because that's what I expected from him, I would be feeling the same way if I didn't have Amelia to think about.
I decided to show her my thanks by making some breakfast. So I got up and got a couple of eggs out of the fridge and opened her pantry to see if she had any pancake mix but I couldn't see any, so I decided I would just make French toast but there wasn't even bread. Actually, there wasn't much of anything at all and I was wondering what she even eats. I was looking for a pan deciding on just to make eggs but I must have been pretty loud because when I turned around, Amelia was standing in front of me tying up her hair. For a moment I was speechless. The way she looked right now, carefree and effortless was astonishing to me. She looked gorgeous. I realized I couldn't just stand there staring as much as I'd like to.
"Good morning, where's your pans?" I asked walking towards her.
"Are you making breakfast?" She raised one eyebrow and smiled.
"Well I was, but you don't have very much food." I replied. Her lips twitched when I said that and it confused me but I decided to look past it. She looked over at the eggs on the counter and laughed.
"Three eggs for four people? Are we on a diet?" She said laughing and I was so mesmerized. Her voice was a little raspy because she just woke up but I found it so sexy. But I was even more confused now.
"Four?" I asked. And she just kept laughing and honestly I wish I could just stay like this all day. The way she looks, the way she sounds, it's all perfect.
"You don't remember much do you?" She said making herself a glass of water.
"I remember last night." I said before even thinking about how that sounded. Then I thought maybe she didn't want that to happen and now I regret saying it.
She didn't answer to that though and just said, "Do you want to go get a real breakfast, with more options?" She joked and now I was thinking that maybe she didn't remember and now I regretted it even more. I'd have to tell her though if she asked.
"Yea, that sounds good." I said as I went to put on the hat I wore to the party, not the Santa one, and some shoes. She walked out of her room wearing just a casual shirt and shorts and left her hair the way it was. She wasn't wearing any makeup right now and it was a shocking comparison between her and my ex who couldn't leave the house without wearing any at all times, even at the beach. She grabbed her keys and we walked out to her car.
