Kaylee-Ann P.O.V.
I went back with my daughter to the spot where our things were. She'd stop crying and looked calmer than a few minutes ago. I sit on my sweater who was lying on the sand when Emily climbed on my lap. She hugged me and buried her face in my hair. She always used to do that when she was scared.
''It's over now baby'' I whispered. ''But can you please explain mommy how it happened?''
''The water pushed me and Hawwy saved me'' She said while pointing the ocean.
''Who?'' I sometimes got difficulty to understand what she was saying. It was hard for her to pronounced the sound 'r'.
''Hawwy.'' She repeated a little bit louder and pointed to the stranger who was back to his spot near the rocks. ''He's my fwiend''
He suddenly looked at us and smiled at Emily. I took the time to took a look of him. He was wearing a red and black plaid shirt and a very thigh pair of black jeans who were a bit wet from going in the water. His brown curly hair is pushed back and he had sunglasses than looked like mine. My distraction moments gave her the chance to ran in his direction. Oh god.
''Emily come back!'' I tried to sound strict, but she didn't listen. She was already in his arms.
I sight. She was so stubborn.
I stand up and started walking in their direction. I was almost in front of them when the curly boy whispered something in Emily's ear that made her laugh.
He actually looked quite handy with kids. But did it make him a good person that I could trust? No. James looked really nice and sweet when I met him. Turned out, he was an horible guy.
''Emily come on, we got to go home. It's almost 11 o'clock.'' I firmly said.
She seemed to think about what to answer. Her eyes light up like if she finally found the perfect thing to say. ''Don't be a pawty pooper'' She chuckled.
The boy started laughing with her. It was probably him who tell her that.
''Emily *nom de famille* you are not talking to me like that. Say sorry.'' I said angrily.
She suddenly stop laughing and looked down. ''Sowwy''
I was angry. Not at her. At him. Who did he think he was? I was trying hard to raise well my daughter and he had the guts to teach her bad words.
''And you'' I looked straight at him. ''You think it's funny teaching her these things?''
''I don't know what you're talking about'' He just smiled at me, making his deep dimples appeared in his cheeks.
''Oh please! We both know that it's you who-''
''You really need to chill out babe.'' He said, still smiling.
Aouch. I felt pain in my chest when he called me by my last nickname. THE nickname that I hated the most. The one that THE guy I hated the most used to call my by.
''Okay we'll make something clear.'' I said while taking Emily in my arms. ''You stop calling me like that. Right now. I hate it, so stop using it.'' I tried to sound sure of me, but the truth was that I was on the verge of crying. So many memories came back from that freaking nickname. Memories that I wanted to forget.
''Well...I don't know your name...so-'' He started before I interrupted him.
''Kaylee-Ann.'' I said rudely. ''And by the way, what a guy like you is doing here, a Sathurday morning at the beach?''
''Well I was sleeping, duh?''
''You slept here? Ok that's weird. We need to go.'' I turned around and started walking away when his voice called me back.
