"She wouldn't run away!" Colt screamed for the third time at the police officer.

"Okay kid. I'm going to need you to calm down and take a seat." The man said.

"No!" Colt yelled. "You need to find her! Now!"

Two hands were placed on Colt's shoulders. They forced him to sit down.

"She what?" Colt said through the receiver.

"She hasn't come home yet." Faye's mother, Faith said worriedly through the phone. "I fell asleep knowing she'd come home but she didn't."

Colt looked at the clock. 12:23 He yawned. "She left at eight last night. She has to be home."

"I know but she's not."

72 hours earlier

My legs bent ready to spring. I lunged myself over the hurdle and continued to run. My long legs stretched in front of me and my feet pressed into the bouncy red material of the track.

"Good job, Summers. Go hit the showers." Coach Schneider commanded.

I jogged to the locker room. I grabbed my shower supplies and hope in the shower. We were lucky at my school, we had walls to separate the showers. I took a five minute shower, shut of the water, and dried off.

I quickly got dressed and braided my long hair. I laced up my shoes and left the locker room. I walked to the parking lot.

"Faye Summers!" A familiar voice yelled at me.

I turned and smiled to see my best friend jogging towards me. "Hey Colt. How was your day?"

"Good. Ready for home?" He asked.

"You know I am." I grinned up at him. His dark brown hair was above his hazel eyes. He smiled back, his cute dimples showing.

When we got to the car, Colt opened the car door for me. I lightly touched his arm and lowered myself into the car.

The feelings came rushing to me again. Did I just use a flirty move? I lightly touched his arm? Oh no. I can't  I simply can not like him. He'd always been like a brother. Why did getting older change that? Shouldn't it be gross to have a crush on him?

Colt got in the car and drove us home. It was hard to keep a conversation going while trying not to explode.

"You still coming over Friday for Uno?" He asked as he pulled into my driveway.

"I need to kick some ass." I replied with a smile.

 "You aren't going to win this time Fairy." He said using my childhood nickname.

"You say that every time, and who always wins?" I teased.

"Not this time."

"Okay. What ever you say." I grabbed my stuff and open the door. "See ya, Colt."

"Bye, Faye." He said. "Oh and by the way Faye, you look good in that color."

I blushed "Thanks." I shut the door and watched as he drove away.

 On Friday I started out my day like any other. It took my twenty minutes to get out of bed. When I finally did I took a shower and slowly got ready. I ran down stairs to find my mom eating her usual morning yogurt.

"Bye mom!" I said as I grabbed my keys off the counter.

"Breakfast, Faye!" My mother yelled.

"I'm  going to the bakery!" I shouted as the door shut behind me.

I jogged to my car and began my day.

~~~
After a long day at school, I went home to change and grab a granola bar, then I began to walk to Colt's. When I got there I walked right in.
"Hi Faye." Colt's mother, Nikole greeted with a hug.
Nikole walked to the couch with unbelievable grace and folded  herself onto a cushion.
"Hey Faye" His father, Mason Said with a pat on the shoulder.
They were family to me. All of them.
Colt walked in with a bowl of popcorn in one hand and a Cream soda in the other. He knew me too well. Colt handed me my drink with a smile and sat on the ground, ready to play.
I started to win almost immediately. The best part was Nikole and Mason rooted for me to win. It was thrilling for them to see him lose. The game continued
"UNO!" I shouted.
"How- what- no!" Colt said.
"I'm just that good."  I winked.
"Scream and I kill you."
My body tensed. I didn't know what to do. I was scared.
One hand moved to my arm and I was pulled back wards. I heard a car door open. I was turned and shoved in. I curled around myself, in a tight fetal position. The man walked around the car and sat in the seat. I peeked up at my kidnapper. My mouth dropped open, making a small popping noise.
I knew his face.
 17 hours missing...
Colt still sat in the police station. He'd been there for hours with his and Faye's family. He was determined to find her.
"Okay, kid." Officer Berkeley said to Colt. "Her cell phone was tracked."
"To where? Where is she?"Colt asked frantically.
"Well if she's with her phone then she's lying on a ditch along the freeway."
