That Fist of Heart

13 1 2

I close that fist of my heart

in the closet,

Nobody knows, not even that wife of mine

that I go and back

everyday

without that fist of my heart

I tell her,

to tell those sons of ours

that once I'm gone

this fist of my heart has never been cut into two.

Ema's note :

1. Since the name of this anthology (Katawa) is derived from two parts of Asia, namely East Asia and South East Asia, it's just fair to include a poem from SEA this time since the last post is a poem from East Asia.

2. It's a heart-wrenching reminder to us of how much dad's sacrifice for the family. It was recorded that when he was alive, he was a busy person and always went to places. Somehow, this poem was heartbreakingly beautiful in expressing his longing.

3. His motto; 'To write poetry is to write  love'.

Let's appreciate the moment.

Live your life to the fullest, and love your family!
