"You're from America right? What part? They said I'd be room mates with the other american girl! This is gonna be so much fun! I mean I hope it will but I barely even know you we're gonna be living together for a while I should get to know you! First things first - do you like Starbucks? Cause that's important I mean it really is!" Marissa took a deep breath after speaking a mile a minute. I stared at her and then cracked up laughing. "Well, I'll leave you two to get to know each other, exchange favorite Starbucks drinks and such." Mark laughed and left the room.
"Oh my gosh I don't know if I've ever heard someone talk so fast!" I laughed. "Sorry!! I'm slightly crazy!" The bright eyed girl laughed. "Its ok, I like crazy. You and I are gonna get along just fine!" I smiled. I looked around the room. "So is that my bed?" I asked, looking at the empty bed by the window. "Yeah, I hope you don't mind." Marissa answered as she sat on the bed on the other side of the small room. "No, its great." I put my two suitcases, bag and pillow onto the bed. "So first things first" I started, sitting on the, well, my bed. "I'm Kali, and yes, I do like Starbuck's." Marissa smiled. "How old are you?" She asked. "19. You?" "Same!" Sweet. This was working out great. "So this is your first year here?" I asked, beginning to unpack my clothes into the small dresser next to my desk. "Yeah, I'm studying art."
"Cool! I'm studying music."
"Ooh awesome!! Can you sing?" She asked enthusiastically. "Umm kind of, not really. I mostly play guitar and piano. I'm also studying different writing elements." I answered, trying to change the subject off of singing. I loved it, like a lot. I just wasn't really good.
"Oh ok cool. So where are you from?"
"A small town in Montana."
"Nice. I'm from Florida."
"Any siblings?"
"Two younger brothers. Sam's 17 and Luke's 15."
"I have a twin named Charlie. That's it though."
We talked for awhile while I unpacked. I found out that her favorite color is blue, she loves Mac n cheese, she was born in France, but then her family moved and she grew up in Florida before coming here last week. She loved to draw and paint, and has a kitten named Muffin back in Florida. Oh and she also met this guy named David who's here from America as well, and that he was super cute and nice and she'd have to introduce me to him. There were two American guys here, who were roomed together, and us two American girls. There was one other girl from New York, was boarded with an English girl. All four of us would be in an English class together. Other than just English, Marissa and I had a few basic math, science and history together, and then our majors (art and music) separately.
"So if classes don't start until next Monday, do we have to do anything until then?" I asked Marissa, brushing my curly brown hair. Our hair was very similar, except hers was slightly darker than mine, and mine had blonde highlights in it. Speaking of which, I need to find a hair place here to get them redone...anyways. "... But that's not until Sunday." Marissa finished her sentence. "Wait.. What? I wasn't listening" I smiled sheepishly. Marissa laughed, "I said classes don't start until Monday, and we have an orientation on Sunday. There's dinner every night, but were on our own for the other meals. Dinners cool cause we can talk to the other students. Of course, we can just go knock on their doors if we wanted. So other then orientation next Sunday, we can explore the city and campus and look for jobs and all that." she finished.
"Ok, that sounds good. It's Saturday right? I think I'll sleep in tomorrow, then go exploring. I'll probably look for a job on Monday." I thought aloud. Marissa groaned, and I turned to see her flopped over on her bed. "I have to get a jobbb and I don't want to!!" She wined. I laughed, "Come on, its 6:15, and dinner is at 6:30!"
I quickly changed out of the clothes I wore on the plane and into something slightly more presentable. After all, this was my first time meeting everyone! I did my makeup while Marissa changed out of sweatpants and grabbed my phone and my room key and joined Marissa out in the hall. We locked the door and headed down the hall, outside and towards the cafeteria area.
Marissa and I sat down at one of the tables. Each table was called up to grab their plates of food. Marissa and I were at a table with a couple other girls.
"Ok, see that table over there?" Marissa pointed to a table in the corner. I nodded, looking at the table with a bunch of college guys.
"Ok, see the black guy? That's David. Then guy I was telling you about" David looked about 21, his black hair cut short, his blue shirt in contrast to his dark skin, and a smile almost as big as Marissa's.
"Well? What do you think?!! Marissa asked enthusiastically. "You're right, he's cute! and he looks nice!"
"Yeah, I'll have to introduce you two sometime. "

After dinner was over we headed back to our room.
I changed into sweat and made my bed with what I had. I wanted ton get an new been set tomorrow. Marissa took a shower while I tried to get TV on my computer. Charlie had hooked it up so I got Netflix and our old on demand and TV programs on my Mac, no matter where I was.
I watched some of the new season of the Voice, I fell asleep, gazing out the window at London.
Hey guys! You might have noticed I did some editing, so I hope the story's a little better now!
