Entry 7 - It's a Deal

"All set?" Perseus asked me. He's sitting on the driver seat after arguing kung sino mag-ddrive. I mean, ayoko na dagdagan yung hassle na binigay ko sakanya since the vomit issue. But yep, since I'm sitting on the passenger seat, he won.

"Yep. Let's go." I smiled at him.

Habang nasa byahe kami, I decided to turn my phone on. I have to check if there's something important to know sa work that I need to attend to kapag balik ko. I received a couple of text messages as soon as I got my signal back. I was hoping at the back of my mind na baka may text si Landon and di naman ako nadisappoint. He has 2 text messages.

First is from yesterday.

Hey, I'm worried. I want to pick you up. Mag-reply ka if you don't want to but if I didn't receive any reply within 24 hours, I will go to you. Bukas uwi mo diba?

And then another one na medyo nabasa ko na since yun yung una kong message na nakita.

Puntahan kita before 3PM. May emergency lang sa work na di ko maiwan. I will go to you no matter what so please wait for me.

It's already 1:30 PM. Medyo nadelay lang kami ng alis from the 1PM plan dahil natagalan ako mag-ayos. You know, girls. Sorry na. Kakalampas lang namen sa village.

Pero what is he thinking? Sinabi ko na sakanyang okay lang ako (kahit hindi). Ayoko na umasa sakanya so why won't he stop caring so much for me kahit na alam ko namang hanggang ganun lang siya. Di niya kayang panagutan yung feelings na matagal ko ng gustong sabihin sakanya. I decided to call him since nakaalis na ako and may maghahatid na sakin pauwi.

"Excuse lang Perseus ha. I'll just make a phone call."

"Sure." He answered still focused on the road.

After two rings, the call was answered..... by a woman's voice.

"Hello?"

I don't know what to respond.

"Hello? Lorraine?"

"Wait, you know me?" I managed to answer.

"Not in person. I just know na ikaw yung parang younger sister ni Landon. Wait..."

Younger sister? Oh for fxck's sake.

I was about to ask her who she is and bakit hawak niya yung phone but I heard Landon's voice from the other line.

"Honey? Who's that?" said Landon probably from a distance.

Honey?

"It's Lorraine, hon. She just called." Said that woman's voice.

"Hey Lorraine!" From the sound of it, hawak niya na yung phone.

"H-hey.." That's all I managed to say.

"Honey, I'll leave now. See you back in Manila tomorrow. I love you." I heard the woman's voice again from the background.

"Hold on, Lorraine.. . Okay honey. Love you too. Sorry ulit di kita mahatid."

And I didn't hear any response from the woman anymore.

Pakiramdam ko dinidrill yung puso ko.

This is a lot to process. At sobrang ganda pa ng timing ng tawag ko ha.

I suddenly regret calling him instead of just sending him a text message. Well, mas prefer ko kasi na mag-usap sa phone call kesa text and I somehow felt bad na di ko nabasa messages niya agad so baka on the way na siya. Ayokong magkasalisihan kame.
