You and Alex had been best friends for years now. You lived on the same street, went to the same school, enjoyed the same music, books, movies, etc. You both seemed inseparable.
That was until Alex had to move.
Although Alex had moved, you were still best friends. You'd text each other everyday, let each other know what you were up to, how everything was going.
That was until Alex started dating Jessica.
When he started dating Jessica, Alex seemed to become distant, not messaging you as much, not letting you know how he was and how everything was going. This upset you. The thing Alex didn't know was you were in love with him. He wasn't just your best friend, he was the love of your life.
But no matter how you felt about his relationship with Jessica, you were still supportive, because that's what best friends do. Whenever he'd send you pictures of them two, letting you know how happy he was, you'd let him know you were glad he was happy, even if you weren't.
You wouldn't have to be upset about Jessica for long though. After a while, Alex started messaging you everyday, letting you know everything that was happening in his life, which he hadn't done since he had gotten with Jessica. Knowing something was up, you asked him what was going on. That's when he told you him and Jessica had broken up.
Being the best friend you were, you were there for Alex. But to say you weren't happy when they broke up would be a lie. But you were still there for him, comforting him when he needed it. Letting him know how much you miss him and how much he means to you.
But you wouldn't have to miss him for much longer.

One night, your parents asked you to go to the 'family room' to talk.
They explained to you that they were having financial problems, so you'd all be moving to another town. But they wouldn't tell you where to.
After a few days, you were all packed and ready to move, still not knowing where you were moving to.
For the whole, long, never-ending journey, you were constantly wondering where you were moving to, and why your parents wouldn't tell you where it was.
But it all become clear when you saw the sign of the town you were entering.
It was where Alex lived!
To say you were overjoyed would be an understatement. You couldn't contain your excitement, and texted Alex straight away.
"Omg, Alex, you'll never guess what!"
"What? What is it?"
"I live in your town now!"
"What? Really? When did this happen?!"
"I literally just found out. I'm here now!"
"Do you know what street you live on?"
You had no idea what street you lived on, so you asked your parents.
When they told you, you let Alex know straight away.
"No way, that's the street I live on. Let me know what number you live at and I'll come see you!" Alex text you.
You let Alex know what house you were now living at, and he was there in no less than five minutes.
"Y/N!" You heard Alex shout behind you.
"Alex!" You turn around to see him, forgetting about the box you were carrying.
"Here, let me take that." Alex said, taking the box off you and walking towards the house.
"Where do you want this?" He asked.
"Just over there." You pointed to no where in particular.
For the rest of the night, your parents let you go to your room to catch up with Alex. It must have been early hours of the morning before Alex left.

After a few days of unpacking and getting settled down, you got ready for your first day at your new high school.
Liberty High, it sounded quite nice. The key word being sounded.
Once you got there, you knew it wasn't as nice as it sounded. Once you walked through the door and barely got half way down the corridor, some guys wolfed whistled at you. You turn around and saw a group of jocks looking at you with smirks on their faces. You could tell just by looking at them, they were the jocks Alex described to you.
Ignoring them, you went to the office to get your timetable and headed for your first class.
But it got harder to ignore them throughout the day. They were persistent, you'd give them that, but they were also borderline harassing you.
Constantly coming up to you, no matter where you were, practically begging you to go to one of their parties or hang around with them. But you kept rejecting their offers.
By the end of the day, you'd had enough and told them where to shove it.
That didn't go down well.
When you went to school the next day, you found some graffiti on your locker. Some unpleasant words were written on there. You instantly knew who it was, and you weren't going to be one of those people who depended on teachers to sort stuff out for you, you were gong to do it yourself.
You walked right up to the group of jocks standing at one of the corners and confronted them, after finally learning their names from Alex.
"Oh, Justin. Why the fuck did you write those words on my locker?" You asked annoyed.
"I don't know what you're going on about." He and his friends laughed.
Before you could get more worked up, Alex came along.
"What's going on guys?" He asked, obviously unaware of what had happened.
"These idiots vandalized my locker just because I refused to hang around with them." You said, giving each of them a dirty look.
Before long, Alex had got everything sorted out, and made sure they would leave you alone from now on.
That night, you went to Alex's for dinner and to watch some movies.
After about three movies, you felt like it was time to go home.
But before you could leave, Alex said something to you that took you by surprise.
"Y/N, I'm in love with you."
"What?" You questioned, wondering whether you heard him correctly.
"I said I'm in love with you Y/N, and I have been for a long time."
You couldn't believe what you were hearing. The love of your life loved you back.
Before you could confess your feelings for Alex, he leaned in and kissed you. After a few seconds of lingering, he pulled away and put his forehead on yours.
"I'm in love with you too, Alex Standall."
