I just got to the new world. The French just settled a new colony called New Orleans in North America. I spent the last couple months on an over crowded boat sailing across the Atlantic watching people die left and right. And I spent the last sixty years chasing Alane across Europe and Asia. I was making sure I keep my promise. She was even being stupid enough to fall in love with another man who was the same as before, only to get what he wanted from her. But I took care of him, maybe next time she won't be such an idiot.
But she broke my heart again. I had fallen in love with a boy from the vineyard in France and he knew what I was. He was so handsome and kind and I was head over heels for him, as he was for me, but she came in and ruined everything. When she caught up to me and found out about him, she thought I was making a mistake like she always does. She decided to make the "problem" go away, and so she vervained me just enough so I couldn't do anything and she drank his blood right in front of me. I found out that vervain stings like the sun without a daylight ring, and that my sister doesn't care about anyone but herself. She killed him because I was happy and she wasn't.
So we left the next day. And when she finally found a man, she turned him and he was awful to her, but she loved him anyways. It still makes no sense to me because we were princesses and she shouldn't love a man who treats her otherwise. So I drove a stake through his heart to stop the torture, it was killing me to watch their relationship. I hate her but I couldn't let that continue.
But I got tired of protecting her while making her miserable, so I decided to have an adventure. Maybe in a couple of centuries I will go home but for now I just need to survive. For now I just want to forget what has happened. I think I will change my name to something French like Renee. I suppose that having to change is a sign of the times.
