I awoke to smell bacon. I sat up, confused.
"Pete?" I said rubbing my eyes.
"Good morning, Sunshine!" He said walking into the room and slowly turning in the lights. I smiled and climbed out of bed, he was still in his underwear so I assumed it was okay if I kept my pajamas on.
"Breakfast is almost ready." I heard from the other room.
I snuck up behind him and hugged his waist.
"Whatcha makin'?" I ask.
"Breakfast....duh." Pete answered sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and sat down in front of the TV.
I turned on cartoons, they were the only thing that let me escape back into my childhood.
"Served!" Pete said, it was something in his voice that made me shiver.
I sat down and started eating.
Pete looked up at me and smiled, "What is the most embarrassing thing that gets your motor running?"
I chuckled at his choice of words , I'm pretty sure that is in a Meatloaf song.
"Hmmmm. Embarrassing, huh? I'd say... probably gut screaming."
He looked at me confused, "You know, like not an afraid scream. Like a deep, gravely, gut scream!" He nodded.
"Like this? I used to obsess over living.
Now I only obsess over you."
I shivered, "Exactly."
He nodded and smirked. I finished my meal and went to put my dishes in the sink. Pete snuck up behind me and hugged my upper chest. He let out a beautiful, gut scream.
I could barely keep myself together. I shivered and clenched my fists. He grinned, he knew exactly what he was doing to me.
I swiftly turned around so I was facing him.
"Your turn." I said as he lifted me onto the counter.
He thought for a moment, then answered, "Small, delicate, lady-like hands..." he examined my hands and nodded approvingly.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and began kissing him. He held my back and squeezed me tightly.
He tastes like bacon. I chuckle to myself.
We couldn't hear the door open, but soon we heard soft crying.
I looked up, "Patrick?" Pete swiftly turned around.
He let out a sigh and put his hand to his chest, "Oh good. It's just you."
He stared for a second, "Are you...crying?"
Patrick nodded slowly, I jumped off the counter and walked over to him.
I squatted next to the young boy and rubbed his back.
"What's wrong Patty Cakes?" (jules_burns Coffee_and_Foxes479 )
He sniffles a bit then answers, " I-I... It's just... hard to see.. someone you love making out with your best friend."
I flashed a look at Pete, he shrugged and knelt by his friend.
"What do you mean man?" He said.
" I LOVE BROOKLYN! Okay? I-I.. you wouldn't want to see me doing that with her, would you?" He sniffled and wiped a tear away.
My shoulders sank, "Oh Pat... I love you too. Just not in the same way I do Pete." I stood up and wrapped an arm around Pete's shoulders, "I love you both the same, just differently."
He nodded and got up. He rubbed his eyes and refused to look at Pete. "Anyway, I just came by yo see how Pete was." He said, clenching his teeth, "As I can see, he's doing much better."
Pete tried to comfort him, but Patrick just swatted his hand away.
I smiled and walked over to Patrick, I rubbed his arms.
"What do you say we get lunch together? Just you and me?" He smiled widely and nodded.
"Perfect, come back at about 11:30. And knock this time." I say laughing a little.
He smiles at both of us and leaves, not without giving his long time friend a hug though.
-time skip to lunch-
Pete had left to get himself some lunch.
I just sat and waited for Patrick, suddenly I heard a muffled knock at the door.
I jumped up and open the door.
"Patty Cakes!" I say, taking him into a huge hug.
We had a wonderful lunch, full of laughs and smiles.
When I returned home I found Pete sleeping quietly on the couch. I shook my head and sat next to him.
"You'll never sleep tonight like that." I said grinning.
He rolled his eyes, "Geez mom.."
I ruffled his hair and turned on some music, The Beastie Boys.
I reentered the room to see Pete smiling widely and preparing to sing along.
