Dragonkin are a group of creatures roughly related to Dragons. When speaking about Dragonkin, most people talk about the sentient Greater Dragonkin, which consist of Draen, Dracon and Drake. There are also Lesser Dragonkin, but those are hard to list, but I'll list them whenever I add them to this story

Greater Dragonkin
All Greater Dragonkin are humanoid creatures that can assume dragon form at will, hence the nickname 'Weredragon'.  The races of Greater Dragonkin have been at a war as long as humanity knows, which is caleld the Eternal War. If there were other Greater Dragonkin that were to be discovered, they would be immediately sucked into the war without an end. Every Dragonkin speaks at least Draken Ta'al, a language that few other races speak.
There are three (known) races of Greater Dragonkin:

Draen

Benevolent, peaceful scholars. Their civilisation is focused magic, and the land is ruled by a Magocracy, where stronger magic equals more respect. Draen often show their magic powers by casting a Drakelight, a spell that consumes no mana, but gets more complicated and beautiful with the caster's arcana strength. Draendor is ruled by a High King and twelve Crownprinces. Draen are great Mages, Artifimancers and Magiteknologists. They are usually assumed to be good, but they are known to sometimes use darker magicks, which doesn't seem to turn them away from the path of good. A Draen who becomes evil willingly is called a Dark Draen, which is considered a Lesser Dragonkin. They live in the Twelvefold domains of Draendor. In their Dragonform, a Draen looks like a normal dragon, except slimmer and a bit shorter. Draen have multiple subspecies, which denote their racial powers, like breath weapons. They shapeshift through a Mantra.

Dracon

Tribal, primitive hunters. Their civilisation consists of spread tribes who rarely interact. They are the smallest of the races, surviving due to the fact that they fight mostly defensive, using their forested home realm to employ guerilla tactics. Dracons are prone to instincts, which can be used in your advantage when fighting them. When they are abandoned, they enter a berserk rage, which makes them the most dangerous Dragonkin when separated from their group. Dracons give rise to Druids, Shamans and Barbarians. They are often considered to be neutral, some good, some evil, most just don't care for anything other than survival. They live in the Forest realm of Sylva. Their Dragonform resembles a small, muscled dragon the size of a horse with a blade on their tail. They breath a great number of different poisons and potions. They shapeshift while experiencing great pain

Drakes

Brutish, proud warriors. They live in orderly communities, ruled by the law of the strongest. Each has a strong sense of honour, and has an instinctual obedience to superiors. They are the greatest in numbers, having culled the Draen and the Dracons multiple times in history. Drakes give rise to great Knights, Warpriests and Warmages.  They are often considered Evil, with some exceptions. They are stationed in the Barren expanses of Exercitus. Their Dragonform are big bulks of muscle, preferring raw force over a Draen's finesse. They shapeshift thanks to the aid of Dragonstones, small crystals that contain draconic essence.
