A/N: Sorry for the long delay and thank you for your patience!^^ Let yourselves be rewarded!
The scent of fresh green grass and flowers tingled her senses, when she opened her eyes.
She found herself in a bright, cheerful forest. A whole palate of green and yellow colors painted the scenery around her.
Taking in a deep breath of the refreshing air, she walked on a path rimed with bushes and trees.
The sun was shining warmly bathing the surrounding nature with its a tender shine.
A drop of drew caught her eyes and she looked at the light reflecting in it. She felt safe now.
A bird chirped from its seat within the full blown green tree crown. Leaves danced in the rhythm of a small, cool breeze, procuring a rustling sound.
The wind swept a strain of her hair into her face. Smiling at the cooling caress of nature's breath, she raised a hand to sweep the strain away and continued her stroll through the woods.
Finally she was at peace. She wanted to linger a while longer in this pure and sweet nature.
Maybe she could stay for a little bit until she returned home.
She was desperate to see her friends again. She wanted to talk to her family. And she wanted to see him. A smile broke on her face.
But there was no harm in resting for a bit longer though, right? She could stay and savor this peace she found herself in, couldn't she? Just resting, not worrying about anything, sounded like the best idea right now.
Following the sprinkling sound of a stream, she enjoyed herself, drinking in the beauty of her surroundings.
Her fingers grazed the soft, dark green leaves of a bush, she was passing. It felt strangely realistic and for a moment she wondered, if this was a dream or something else. How did she get here anyway?
A squeal distracted her from these thoughts. Turning her head to the side, she caught sight of a squirrel running to a tree and disappearing between the branches. A small hum left her and she continued her stroll through the beautiful nature.
Soon she came to a crossing. One road lead further ahead. The other split off to the left.
Something within her told her to turn left and so she did follow her instinct.
The sprinkling of the water grew louder, as she left the wood to a wide clearing.
In her view came a large meadow sprinkled with small flowers and rimed with the trees surrounding the clearing and a small spluttering lake. In the middle of the meadow sat a big white tiger licking its huge paw.
A full smile blew on her face, when she recognized her former comrade.
Byakko turned his head towards her and sat up gracefully. Mustering her from head to toe, he stayed silent.
She approached him with a few more steps. "Byakko, where have you been?"
"Daughter of Amawaka, I am glad we meet again." The droning voice filled her head while the holy shikigami in form of a tiger didn't move his snout.
She felt like crying and she couldn't stop the tears from forming in the corners of her eyes. She had thought Byakko had left her and would never return. Now, as he was sitting in front of her, relief washed over her. "Where have you been?"
A frown or something close to it, painted the face of the white tiger. "My presence did not waver. The yin aura which seeped into you, shoved me away. You allowed yourself to be consumed by dark thoughts. Thus, my voice reached you no more."
