Ruffling of papers, scratching of pencils, whispers of the wind.

All the sounds you would expect to hear during an exam.

It's the beginning of the year and we haven't been put in our class sets yet because we need to take our start of year exams.

I look to my left, Hyunae. I look slightly past her, Baekhyun.

He looks so concentrated, so focused and determined to make his parents proud by getting in the top sets. It's not like he won't anyway. He's a genius, modest genius.

I can't keep my eyes off him and I end up staring for a while before my teacher yells my name

"Jeon Jiyeon! Focus on your paper!" She scolded

Old hag.

I continued my exam without a hitch, probably the same with Hyunae and Baekhyun. We three are always at the top 10 of the class when we take exams. Sure, we're smart. But we're not snobbish.

The bell rings and we hand our papers in to the front before getting out of our classroom.

I still remember it. Walking these hallways with Hyunae, just us two. It has always been like that since our childhood. That all changed around 2 months ago.

"Yah! Min Hyunae!" He called from afar

"Why is Byun Baekhyun calling you? Are you in trouble with him or something?" I asked Hyunae as I held onto my backpack straps a little tighter. I always had a very small fire for Byun Baekhyun but I was always the shy admirer.

"I don't know... tutoring maybe? No that can't be it, he's 3rd in our class... business?......" she whispered to me "ummm, yes?" She asked slightly jittery

"Mrs. Park assigned me to be partnered you for our new history project" He said gleefully as he stood in front of my childhood friend. He turned to me and gave a brief smile before turning back to Hyunae to hear what she had to say about this

"Uh-I-uh-Alright.... c-can we umm... can we meet in the library after S-school?" She asked shyly

"Of course! See you at 3!" He called and waved before running off

"Good luck" I chuckled slightly, a slight hint of unnoticeable sadness and jealously in my voice

"Can we get breakfasttttttt~" Baekhyun whined as we walked to our lockers

"Why are you always hungry?" I asked, laughing to myself as I put my things in my locker, taking a small amount of money to bring to the canteen

"It's food! I agree with him" Hyunae laughed before throwing an arm over his shoulder, starting to walk to the canteen

"You guys are the perfect couple, seriously" I laughed. I had gotten over my feelings for him when Baekhyun had started to hang out with us. I couldn't have feelings. He was my friend now, just that.

"Oh shut up will you!" Hyunae laughed as we walked to the food stalls, picking out small breakfast snacks to eat before our next exam

"Here's your bun" Baekhyun said as he passed me my classic snack

"You really don't have to Baek, you do this everyday" I said calmly as I put my hand out for him to take the bun back

"Nope! It's your now!" He laughed as he stuck a tongue out at me before running off with Hyunae

"He's too kind" I said to myself, looking down at the bun and starting to walk before accidentally bumping into a tall figure

I looked up, ready to apologise before he did first "Sorry Jiyeon, I didn't see you there" Jin smiles softly at me

"Ah, Mianhae oppa" I bowed my head slightly. Jin is one of my elder brother's friends. He's only a year older but he acts like a child "Where's Jungkook oppa?" I asked quietly

"He's at the field with the rest, I'll go join them. See you around" Jin smiled before ruffling my hair slightly and going back to his friends

"Guys! Why did you leave me there?" I asked, pouting slightly as I took a bite out of my bun

"Sorry Jiji!" Hyunae apologised cutely before Baekhyun ruffled my hair

"Yah! Why does everyone like to do that to me?" I whined as I tried to fix my hair

"Because you're short and it's easy to do" Baekhyun smiled before taking a sip of his strawberry milk

"Aish" I chuckled as I threw my wrapper away "I'm going to class first, hope you guys are ready for the exam" I waved before entering the quiet classroom "Why does it always have to be like this? Eottokhae!" I groaned before dropping my head on the table with a loud 'bang' "Owwww" I whined as I rubbed my forehead
