"Danny, I don't understand."

"It's four am, I don't understand why you are up."

"Because I'm thinking."

"Hit me."

"Of how people can go from commoners to royalty in just under a day."

"What are you on about now, Pop."

"Annie. Just yesterday she was sitting with me at the lunch table, and today she was sitting with Connor and his royal lemmings."

"She was never a good friend. Did you say anything to her yesterday? Maybe something you said tipped her off a little."

"No. I was writing about you."

"Maybe that's why she left, but as for the lemmings, I'm beat."

"Does everyone leave, Danny? I mean, Mom and Dad left, you left, and now Annie."

"We all have to stand alone sometimes."

"So that is a yes."

"It's not. I'm just saying that I left because I had to."

"You didn't have to."

"Can we go one phone call without bringing up me leaving?"

"Will you come back?"

"You know that I can't."

"But you're my best friend. You were made for me. When God was creating all of us, our atoms were made with a bond connecting us. Danny, please come back, I'm waiting."

"You just made it sound like we're in love, Poppy."

"I loved our friendship."

"You enticed me."

"You know I tried. You were always so chill and relaxed, I just thought I'd have to go out of my way for you to like me."

"I liked you from the start."

"You could have said this before I pretty much wrote a sonnet expressing why I think we would have been great friends in Pre-School."

"You always did overthink everything."

"I don't anymore. I've learnt to be simple-minded, like you."

"Really?"

"Really."

"If you won one million dollars, what would you do?"

"I'd die unhappy."

"See, you haven't learnt to think like me."

"Why not?!"

"The normal seventeen year old girl would buy items, they wouldn't think to say that they'd die unhappy."

"But I would die unhappy. I'd gain the whole world and lose my virtue."

"Isn't it lost already."

"Yes, so I'll die unhappy either way."

"Don't say that."

"You left, Danny, what else am I supposed to say?"

"What do you think we would have been doing right now of I didn't leave?"

"We would be sitting in my living room, inhaling the secondhand nicotine my new father exhaled, while listening to La Dispute songs, and eating cold French Fries."

"That sounds lovely, how'd you think of it?"

"Because it's what I'm doing right now, alone."

"I love you, Poppy. I wish I was with you right now, complaining on how we should heat up the fries, but I wish most I could hear you laughing when neither of us would get up because we we're too lazy. I miss you laugh, Pop. Please laugh for me."

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"I don't remember how."

Call Ended.
