"Look at all you've done." Sobbing eyes look out over a burning Jump City. "For all your struggling, self control and see what it has wrought." Flames lashing at the choked and blackened sky, wailing screams that curdled blood filled the air. Tears fall from red bloodshot eyes, splashing down to charcoaled earth. Buried in soot and ash, bodies, a changling, a bird, a symbiote, and an alien. "Your naivety, your ignorance, your power, has destroyed them all. Their deaths are a result of your inability to maintain composure." A horrified, traumatised and mournful scream rings out in anguish. Tears of sorrow race down a pale face. Pigments of grey switch to fiery red, two purple eyes change into 4 glowing yellow, grief and pain flow into rage and fury. Raven bolts up from cradling the corpse of the young broken bird. "You did this" rides out from her lips on a wave of wrath as she turns to face her father. Trigon stands tall before her, smirking at how disgustingly pathetic his daughter looks "You will fail, girl. You will always fail. For as long as you love them. You will always fail, for as long as you love him."
Raven jumps upright, eyes wide scanning the room. Only a dream, more of a nightmare actually. "Pushing harder every time" she thought to herself. Trapped in the crystal on her forehead, her father resided, locked in by nothing other than the strength of Ravens will. Then it occurred to her, the words he spoke. "As long as you love him." She thought back. She sat in the middle of her bed letting the words linger in her mind. What was her father saying? Who is him? Sure, she got on with Gar and Jaime but she didn't love them. She got on better with Damian but he had, well, issues. Although she did genuinely have more fun and feelings of happiness around him, even so, she wouldn't drop to her knees in some emotional wreck if he died in her ar... "oh, Azarath it can't be." Spoken aloud to herself alone in her room, the words echoing ever so slightly off her darkened walls. The sudden realisation of her dreams other possible meaning sinking in. She had been holding Robins body, Damians body. He had died right there in her arms because Trigon escaped. She had become enraged at her father for his death. Specifically, his death, not her teammates and friends, not the civilians, but Damians death had fuelled an explosion of emotion from within her. Her only other thought was "what am I meant to do about he and I now."
