Chapter 3, BarbaraxDick

Barbara walked into Dick's apartment and sat on the sofa. "Wasn't she just adorable?" Barbara said sighing.

"She looked like a baby I guess," Dick said sitting next to her.

"So, I talked to Tanya," Barbara said.

"Tanya who?"

"Tanya the wedding planner. Remember?"

"Oh, yeah. About what?"

"Our wedding."

"I mean, what about our wedding?"

"Normal things. The food, the reception, then honeymoon...."

"About the honeymoon..."

"What?"

"I might not be able to take time off of work to go to the beach like we thought."

"You mean you won't be able to take time off of being a hero for a week for our honeymoon," Barbara said.

"That's not what I said."

"But that's what you mean isn't it?"

"Yes... I mean no. Babs, I'm just really stressed right now."

"It's fine."

"You okay?"

"I'm fine," Barbara said.

"Okay...."

"Did you want to go out to eat. There was a new restaurant I wanted to try."

"I can't. I'd really like to, but it's my night on patrol," Dick said.

"Oh..."

"Maybe we can reschedule."

"Don't count on it," Barbara said standing up.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm going to go spend some time at Artemis's."

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm fine," Barbara said again, this time annoyed.

"Babs..."

"It's.... Fine. Go on patrol," Barbara said picking up her purse.

"See you tomorrow?"

"We'll see," Barbara said and walked out the door without kissing Dick goodbye.
