"WE'RE HERE!" Hinata yelled as we got off the bus. I had slept the entire ride there, and now I was dragging my feet off the bus.
"Why are we here again?" Akane says next to me, just as tired as I was.
"FOR THE PRACTICE MATCH YOU DUMMY!" Hinata yells back in excitement.
"Shut up, dumbass!" Kageyama hits Hinata upside the head.
"Oh..." Akane murmurs but we continue to walk to where both teams would meet us. Soon we met up with them and the captains began talking. We were told to go to separate gyms so I wished the boys luck, looking at Nekoma, it didn't look like it was going to be easy. Not for them... or for us...
"Hi, I'm Hara Aiko, captain." The tallest of the group stepped up with an innocent smile on her face and an extended arm.
"Hello Hara, I'm Michimiya Yui, captain as well." Our captain shook hands with her keeping that same smile on her face, but there was a glint in their eyes showing that it wasn't that friendly.
I sized up the rest of the girls, they were tall but not too muscular. We should more or less ok, for now anyways.
Hinata's POV
We entered the gym and started to warm up, I was amazed by the size of the gym. It could fit thousands of people, "Woahhhhh."
"Stop looking like you've never seen a court this size before!" Kageyama made a move to smack me again but I moved to the side.
"Your so m-" I was cut off by Dachi.
"Huddle up!" We did as told. "Neckoma is known for being stable, having no holes. Be careful and be smart about your moves."
"Calm down and assess, this is your first time playing against them. Now go, you can do this!" Coach Ukai told us. With that the starting six stepped on the court. All previous joking vanished, we became serious, but more than anything: determined.
Y/N's POV
We finished stretching and Michimiya informed us on what Ukai would of said if he were here, but he was with the boys for the first set. So we began playing and let me tell you, the rumors were true. These city girls barely made any mistakes, so we had to get points by force. "This is impossible!" Kazu panicked.
"GET. YOURSELF. TOGETHER. WOMAN!" Yui shook Kazuya violently.
"Set to me, Y/N." Akane voice made everyone quiet, "I'll make it." The look on her face scared the living daylights out of me, but that's just how I knew I could depend on her. I nodded.
Nekoma was at game point but our girls were more determined then ever. One of the more petite girls on Neko served, and with that the hustle began. Our captain passed it up in my direction and I got in position. Then Kazu and Akane moved in for the spike. I did a quick set to Akane and she slammed it down into the ground without a second to spare.
The whistle rang out in the silence. OUT?! ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?!
"Lucky, lucky" Hara clapped.
~Time Skip~
"How did we lose every single set?!" Hinata was spread across the concrete floor.
"I don't knowww!" I whined falling next to him. We each played a total of six sets until it was night fall. I was only a setter, my mental fatigue was bad but it was nothing compared to Yui. She played as libero the whole time without rest, diving, rolling, and passing for eight hours straight. She had fallen asleep immediately on the bench and Noya-Kun and Daichi had to carry her out.
"Stupid shitty boys!" Tanka said with his dialect.
"You mean 'city' boys?" Tsukki giggled.
"COME HERE YOU BASTARD!"
The bus finally came to pick us up and I picked myself up off the floor. "Y/N-channnn! Help me up!" Hinata said.
"Nope, sorry but I'm too tired." I chuckled and climbed into the bus taking out my blanket and immediately falling asleep.
~Another Time Skip Brought To You By Hinata's Snores And Your Lazy Author-chan~
"Guys look!" Tanaka yelled pointing at the door of the gym. It had been a week since the practice match and we were practicing even harder after defeat.
"What?..." there at the door I saw a small, almost as small as me, blonde girl hiding behind Kiyoko. "Who's that Kiyoko?"
"She's thinking about being a manager, she's just here to look around." Shimizu explained.
"Oo~ pretty!" Hinata looked amazed and my stomach churned. D-Does he like her?
