"Well, we can't get anything on your fingerprints or facial recognition. First question I have is who the hell are you?" The man asked me after a moment.
"No. I believe I will ask questions first. What is your name?" I asked while going through my bag. My weapons were missing, which quite annoyed because that meant they had opened it. The man was staring at me and I noticed he saw my handcuffs were broken.
"I'm Hunter Simmons, second in command here. Now, how about you explain your story while I get some new handcuffs on you?" He said and proceeded to do so.
"No. I have much more important things to do then answer questions. Who do you work for?" I asked and let him put the cuffs on me. These were stronger than the previous ones, but still easy enough for me to break out of.
"You are in custody of a joint task force consisting of C.I.A agents along with the U.S. military. Who do you work for?" He asked.
"I work for myself." I stated firmly.
"You don't seem to understand how much trouble you're in. We have you as an accomplice to every murder the Caliber family has committed, along with potentially some of your own. Why do you think I would let a murder back on the streets?" He asked, becoming more serious.
"I am not whatever you think I am, now let me go. It is better for all of us if I am not here."
"I'm sorry, but was that a threat? You are in no position to make demands. If you don't want to tell me your name, then how about you tell me how you broke those handcuffs like a twig and also reflected rubber bullets?" He replied.
"I believe you're soldiers may have exaggerated some things, they simply missed and hit nearby trees." I said quickly.
"Trees? Is that really you're excuse? If you don't start talking we're gonna have to keep you locked up here with the other terrorists." He stated and began picking up my files. I scanned them quickly and discovered most of the papers were fake, just filler to make the file seem more full. Even the papers they did have on me seemed to be vague and have gaps. They don't know for sure to what extent I was involved with the Caliber's. These people were grasping at straws, not finishing on connecting the dots like Lance had said. All these soldiers knew was that I was at the center of several cases, so I was a person of interest.
"My name is Eve Primera, I did not willingly do anything you have charged me of. Now, I must go." I stood up and Hunter Lance quickly reached for his gun.
"Ok, Ms.Primera, I'm sorry but you have no proof that you're innocent. I need you to sit back down."
"You have no proof I am guilty, and I need to go before I put you all in danger."
"Another threat? I think assigning you to isolation for a good while will get you to talk. If not we will have to reassign you to less pleasant places." He replied and gathered the files. I stayed standing and went to move, but that's when I heard a faint beeping coming from my bag.
"I'm sorry, but I no longer have time for this." I said and jumped over the table, kicking Hunter hard in the chest and sent him flying into the wall. I purposely caused no serious damage, just enough to keep him down for a moment. He fell to the ground and the door in the room swung open, allowing several armed guards in.
"Don't move!" They yelled at me and I sighed. This was not going to end well for them. I went to move and the lead officer emptied his weapon. The bullets hit into me and I felt the force of each one, but I was able to heal back fairly quickly. The bullets that didn't bounce off of me slowly were pushed out of my wounds by my adapting cells. The soldiers stopped firing and stared in disbelief.
