Chapter Eleven-

Lighting and thunder roared across the lonely sky. The wind shook the branches with a mighty force that made leaves fall to the forest floor. The earth shook beneath my bare feet.   I refused to stop.  I held on tighter to Ace’s body. The loudest storm couldn’t break the kiss.

“I want you,” I whispered. “Please, I want you both.” I ripped Ace’s shirt open and I gasped when his bare chest was exposed.

There was a dark red line that ran across his collarbone and he had a few tiny scars. I had never examined his chest this close before. His scars were almost invisible to the naked eye. I traced the red scar on collarbone and his body shivered beneath me. Power and strength rushed through my body.  The veins in his neck hardened and contracted.   My hands shook as they moved across his chest. Then my hands froze over his skin.

“Sage,” Aiden called my name and he crushed his body to my back. “I want you to feel me, too,” He said and growled.

Lighting stuck at the sound of his words. Aiden was never the type to be aggressive or forceful. Aiden grabbed the back off my shirt and knotted the fabric in his hands. Aiden spun me around and I looked into his deep blue eyes. The light in his eyes was unmistakable.

“Take my shirt off. I want to feel yours hands across my skin,” Aiden said sharply.

He raised his hands in the air and I slowly eased his shirt off. My heart plunged and plummeted to the floor.  My eyes had to be deceiving me. Aiden’s chest was far from being flawless. In fact, he had deeper scars than Ace. His scars looked purple and distorted.    The scars made me feel afraid. Aiden could see the fear in my eyes.

He closed his eyes tight.   “Are you okay?” Ace asked.

He was looking toward his brother.  His eyes slowly opened and he ran his hands through his blonde hair. Aiden nodded and forced himself back into the light.   I placed my arms around Aiden’s neck and buried my head into the crook of his neck. In return, he entangled his hands in my hair.

“Your scent is burning my nose,” Aiden whispered and kissed my jaw.   “Her scent is driving me crazy, too,” Ace said.

Ace pushed my shirt up to my upper back. I felt his mouth against my skin.   “Hmm, it looks like you have a few scars too,” Ace said.   In a second, he would see the scar I hated the most.

  “Oh. Wow,” Ace said.

“My ex-boyfriend was a cutter. He carved his name into my back before he left me. But he didn’t get to finish which is why it says J-A-M instead of J-A-M-E-S.  He hit the wrong vein by accident and I bled out,” I admitted.

Both men turned cold.   “I never told anyone. Never,” I said. They both kissed me on either side of my cheek.   “Did you let him do it?” Aiden asked.

“Yes. It was a stupid game. We were both cutters. Sometimes, I would cut him and then other times, he would cut me,“ I said.

My hands tightened around Aiden’s neck.

“I hate the scars. I hate looking down the scars and knowing that I did something so destructive to my body. The scars are always going to be there. They will always be a part of me. And they make me feel so ugly,” I admitted.
