Meeting Dereck

"So...anything on the party guy?"Dani practically squeals with delight.

I shake my head with a smile. Dani has been so obsessed with this "Party Guy" She doesn't even call him Dereck.

"Dani...I barely even seen his face because the room was dark...how am I even supposed to recognize him?"

"I dunno..."Dani twists upside down and hangs her head on my bed"It reminds me of Cinderella... the mystery girl running away...leaving prince charming clueless of what her name even is,and all he has is her shoe size..."

"Woah...he does not have my shoe size!"I giggle. Dani shakes her head and were both laughing. I smile.

I wake up and look around the room. The sunshine engulfing it making it a yellowish color. I smile,this might actually be a good day.

I get up and do my morning routine on Saturdays. Get dressed,eat breakfast,do chores,and watch TV.

Then as I was watching Doctor Who,the doorbell rings.

I get up to answer it and a face is smiling at me.

"Hey,wanna go to the mall?"Dani asks. I nod and write a note to my mom informing her about it.

We drive to the mall And pull into a parking space.

"I want to go to Claire's, Kayla" Dani tells me I follow along.

Dani smiles widely,it's starting to creep me out.

My phone buzzes with a text message from an unknown number. I look at it.

Hello...party girl...

What? Dani keeps walking, smiling. I began to reply to the message when I bump into someone.

I look up and see sparkling eyes and a dazzling smile. "Hey...Party Girl..." It's...Dereck...

"Well...I'll leave you two alone" Dani says in a sing song voice.

I stare at Dereck"How did you get my number?" Dereck gestures at Dani walking away "The fairy god mother!"

"Stop with the fluffy fairytale stuff!"I say in aggravation. Dereck laughs.

I began walking and Dereck walks along with me. He tells me how that Dani knew him from her neighborhood. So she visited him and hatched a plan. She gave him my number and she planned on going to the mall and him going as well so he could meet me.

"Dani is always in my personal life..."I sigh. "Well...l liked how she did that..."He says.

"Oh...yeah...without her we wouldn't be here...sometimes she can be helpful!"I say cheerfully.

He smiles nervously "You know...you've been stuck in my head ever since the party..."He says looking at his feet.

"Really?"I say looking at him. He nods.

"I just couldn't stop thinking about you...you looked so...pretty..."he says sheepishly. I smile"Yeah...Dani did a good job" I pull hair behind my ear.

We sit on a bench and talk about a lot of stuff. We talk about the party. I tell him the reason why I was crying. And we talk about other random stuff. And then Dani approaches us.

"We gotta go,Dereck..."She says. I lift myself up to my feet. "Well...bye!"I wave to him.

"Bye...Kayla!"Dereck says. Wait he knows my name?
