Can I Ask You a Question?

Kodi's POV:

I was in my room finishing up the last of my homework from today. I had dressed out of the clothes I wore to school and changed into my short jogging shorts, one of my dad's shirts and threw my hair into a messy bun. I finished my homework and headed downstairs to make a snack. I was the only one at home, my dad was at work, my brother was at basketball practice and my mom was God's knows where. I was in the middle of making shrimp pasta when the doorbell rang. I walked over to the door, looked through the peephole and seen Zach. I opened the door and looked up at him.

"Hey, Zach." I smiled at him. He looked nervous. He smiled back at me.

"Hey, Kodi." He rubbed the back of his neck. I raised my eyebrow at him.

"You wanna come in?" He nodded and I moved out of the way so he could enter. I motioned him to follow me as I went to the kitchen.

"Are you hungry?" I asked as he sat at the counter. I turned to look at him as I stirred the pasta.

"Yeah what are you making?" He asked as he rested his chin on his hand.

"Shrimp pasta." I said straining the pasta.

"Perfect." He whispered. I nodded and started mixing in the shrimp and seasonings in the pasta.

"So what brings you to my house today Zach?" I said as I started scooping the pasta into two bowls. I handed him one with a fork and sat opposite of him at the counter.

"I'm sorry about what happened at the end of school today." He whispered. I raised my eyebrow at him.

"What are you sorry for you didn't do anything wrong." I explained. He shook his head.

"I just feel like what happened was uncalled for and I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable or anything. I still want us to be friends and I hope you're not mad at me." He said not meeting my eyes. I tilted my head confused on why he was apologizing when he didn't do anything.

"Hey, you didn't even do anything wrong why would I be mad at you?" I asked. He looked up and met my eyes. He widens his eyes in surprise.

"You're not mad at me?" He said enthusiastically. I shook my head and smiled at his childishness. He laughed and walked around the table to give me a hug. I hugged him back and patted his back awkwardly.

"Okay let's eat before the food gets cold." He nodded and went back to his chair. I started eating when I was startled by a loud moan. I glanced at Zach and raised my eyebrow.

"Oh my god this is really good Kodi." He said through a mouthful of food.

"Uh.. thanks? Are you ok?" I said worriedly. He gasped dramatically.

"Am I ok? I more than okay. I'm having a foodgasm!"

"Foodgasm?!?" I asked in disbelief.

"You know, and orgasm but because the food is so good." He said like that was a normal word to use on a daily basis.

"I know what a foodgasm is, I just can't believe you actually used it." I said laughing.

"Well, the food is good, okay." He said and I laughed harder. "Can I ask you a question?" He said.

"You just did." I said laughing.

"Can I ask you two questions?" He asked.

"You already did." I said laughing.

"Can I ask you for four questions?" He said smugly.

"Don't you mean five?" I said raising an eyebrow. He looked at me confused.

"When did I ask the fourth question?" I smiled mischievously.

"Just right now." I laughed. He sighed in defeat.

"Okay, okay you got me but seriously I have to ask you something." I nodded and rested my chin on my hand.

"Yeah what do you wanna know?" He ran his hands through his hair.

"Today at school in the hallway, when I was going to... kiss you would you have kissed me back?" he asked nervously. I bit my lip and meet his eyes.

"Yeah probably." I said quietly. His eyes widen in shock.

"Really?" I nodded. "But why?" He asked confused.

"Well, when an attractive person kisses me I'm probably gonna kiss them back, whether I like them or not." I said boldly. He raised his eyebrow and smirked.

"You think I'm attractive?" he asked. I nodded again.

"I don't think you need my say in it for you to know you're attractive." I said rolling my eyes. He smiled widely.

"That's true but it feels more truthful to hear you say it." He said. I rolled my eyes again and got up to put my bowl in the sink. I walked over to the fridge and pulled out a can of Rootbeer.

"Do you want something to drink?" I turned around to look at him."

"What do you have?" I turned back to the fridge and look at the variety of drinks we had.

"Um... Sprite, Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer, Orange Fanta, Grape Fanta, or Apple Juice." I never realized how much drinks we had to I had to name then all out loud.

"I'll have a Coke if that's ok?" I grabbed a coke out of the box and handed it to him as I closed the fridge door. "Why do you guys have so many drinks?" Zach asked laughing as he put his bowl in the sink.

"I don't even know it's mostly for my mom and brother, I and my dad hardly drink anything but water." I explained. He nodded and started to drink his soda. "Do you wanna watch Tv or something?" I asked bored.

"Do you have any video games?" I nodded and motioned for him to follow me to my room upstairs.

"I have a Wii in my room we can play Need for Speed or something." He nodded excitedly.

"I'm going to demolish you in Need for Speed!" He yelled.

"I doubt that Zach." I laughed. When we walked into my room Zach looked around my room like he was looking for something to be wrong.

"What are you looking for Zach?" I laughed. He looked under my bed and in my closet.

"Why is your room so clean? Do you have all you mess hidden somewhere?" He asked frantically. I shook my head.

"Nope, I keep my room clean." He looked at me like I was crazy.

"I need to bring you to my house to clean my room for me." he joked. I laughed and fell back onto my bed and stared at the ceiling where I had a very large mirror bolted to. "Oh my god you have the limited edition Blue Wii?!?!" I sat up and looked at Zach.

"Oh yeah, I camped out in a line in front of Walmart for almost 4 hours to get that on Black Friday last year." I smiled at the memory of camping outside of WalMart with my friends so we could all get one.

"That's awesome I wish we were friends back then." I laughed and grabbed two Wii remotes.

"Here, get ready to be beat." I said laughing.
