Ch. 5 ~ Rule Breaker

Kodi's POV:

I dragged Zach out of the house to show him the awesome treehouse my dad built for me when I was 10. It's through the woods behind my house. It has working plumbing and electricity. I usually go there when I bored or whenever.

"Where are we going?" Zach asked.

"Do you not trust me?" I asked back. He huffed and grumbled,

"You are never supposed to respond to a question with a question."

"Well, maybe I don't like to follow the rules, Zach," I said laughing.

"You? Break the rules. Ha, that's really funny." Zach laughed loudly. He had stopped walking and was trying to catch his breath from laughing.

"I can break the rules if I want to," I said getting a little bit annoyed. He looked up in confusion.

"Oh, you were serious?" I rolled my eyes and started walking again. "Wait I was kidding, don't be mad Kodi."

"I'm not mad," I said smiling. He sighed in relief.

"OK well since your should a rule breaker here is a test."

"Oh, are you the teacher of rule-breaking now?" I said crossing my arms.

"Yes, I am. I am also the teacher of many other things," he said winking. I rolled my eyes again.

"Well lucky for you I don't need any teaching for any of those things," I said. We were getting close to the treehouse.

"Are you too innocent for that class?" he said smirking.

"No, it's just, why would I need to take a class, if I'm already an expert at all the material?" I said laughing. His jaw dropped.

"That... I was not expecting that." He said slowly. "That was hot, I want to kiss you now." I was a little surprised at the last part, but it's something I would expect coming from Zach.

"Yeah?" I said teasingly.

"Mmhm." He hummed. We were finally in front of my tree house, and to climb the ladder you had to go through an entryway. The only way to get in was with the key.

"We're here!" I said happily. He looked up as I got the key and opened the entryway. We climbed up the ladder to the porch spot. "I've always loved the view from here," I said in remembrance.

"Well Kodi, the view on the way up here was even better. I never noticed how round and big your ass was." He said smirking.

"Are you ok?" I asked.

"Yeah, why?" he said shrugging.

"Because since we left the house you have been extra flirty," I said confused. I unlocked the front door and walked in with Zach behind me. He sat down on the couch while I turned on the TV.

"Does it bother you?"

"No."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure, I actually think it's funny." I sat down next to him.

"Well, that's good because I'm not stopping anytime soon." He said smirking again.

"Well, what do you want to do?" I said relaxing into the couch.

"You," he said nonchalantly.

"At least take me to dinner first," I said smiling.

"Well, maybe you should prove to me you can be a rule breaker." He said mischievously.

"Ok..... What should I do?" I said suspiciously.

"Kiss me." He said smirking.

"I don't think kissing you falls under the category of breaking the rules," I said laughing.

"That's probably true, but maybe I just really want to kiss you," he said moving closer to me. "But only if you'll let me, I don't want to force you."

"It's ok, this isn't my first rodeo," I whispered moving closer. Our lips were almost touching.

"I'm gonna kiss you know ok?"

"Ok." He leaned in close the distance between our lips. I have kissed a handful of people before, but I'm 99.99% sure Zach's lips are the softest. He pulled me in closer, but I was sitting in an awkward position so I swung my leg over him so I was sitting in his lap. Just as the kiss was about to get serious, my phone blared my annoying ringtone. I made a note to change it later. I pulled away from Zach and grabbed my phone out of my back pocket.

"Hello?" I answered as I realized I didn't check to see who it was first.

"Kodi?" Emma replied back.

"Yeah what's up?" I looked up at Zach and his eyes were that bright yellow color again. I would have to ask him later.

"You should come to this party I'm at right now, it's super lit!" I laughed at how intoxicated she sounded.

"Who is it?" Zach asked. I shifted on his lap and he grabbed onto my waist.

"It's Emma." He nodded and started rubbing my sides with his thumb.

"Who are you talking to? OMG! Is that Zach?" Emma said loudly.

"Yes, it is," I said laughing again.

"Where are you guys? Why are you together? OMG! Did you guys hook up?" She jolted out so many questions before I could even answer the first. "I need to talk to him. NOW!" I was so startled at her demanding tone that I almost dropped my phone. I handed it to Zach.

"She wants to talk to you." I could her Emma rambling on as Zach was just nodding and look back and forth from me to the floor.

"Yeah, I'll keep that in mind." He hung up and handed the phone back to me.

"So what did she say?" I asked curiously.

"That she gives me permissions to 'fuck your brains out' as long as I put the back and use protection." Even though I usually don't blush, at the moment I did because of Emma's choice of words.

"Oh. Well, I would like to keep my brains in me, thank you very much." I said sarcastically.

"That won't be the only thing in you soon," he said winking. I rolled my eyes and started to get off his lap, but he pulled me back down by my waist. "Can we stay like this for a little bit?" He whispered.

"Um, ok." I played my head on his shoulder. "I am very tired."

"Same." His hands were very warm on my waist.

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah sure."

"Promise you'll answer it truthfully." I pulled back and looked him dead in the eye.

"Why do your eyes turn yellow?" He sighed and ran his hand through his hair.

"Ok it's very complicated, but I trust you. I was going to have to tell you sooner or later."
