Zach's POV
Turns out I'm not as good at Need for Speed as I thought I was. Kodi had beaten me so many times that I lost track. The best part was the little happy dance she did when she won. I was getting tired of losing so I suggested we watch a movie.
"Hey, we should watch a movie." I said as I turned towards her. She nodded and went to the Wii Menu and clicked on Netflix.
"Ok so what do you want to watch?" She asked.
"I don't care as long as it's not a sappy romance film" I said cringing. She shook her head.
"No way I hate those especially when Emma forces me to watch them with her and Scarlet." She crinkled her face in disgust. I laughed and motioned to the Tv.
"So if you don't watch that crappy shit what do you watch?" I asked. Her eyes lit up and a huge smile grew on her face.
"MARVEL MOVIES!!!!" she screamed. I got so startled that I fell off the couch I was sitting on. She laughed and came over to me to help me up. She pulled me over to her bed, where she was already sitting. She walked over to her closet and pulled out two very large Marvel blankets. They both had all of the Marvel characters crowded together that you could barely make out most of the faces. I wasn't till now that I realized all of the marvel stuff she had around her room. I was too busy looking around her room that I barely realized that she was already snuggled up in one of the blankets watch Captain America Civil War, the most recent Marvel movie. I grabbed the other blanket and wrapped it around me. I rested my back against the headboard and relaxed as I watched the movie. After a while, Kodi suddenly crawled over to me and snuggled into my side. I looked down at her confused.
"Are you ok?" I asked her. She nodded.
"I usually watch these with my dad, we always cuddle so..." I nodded my head understanding her reasoning.
"Ok, it's fine." I said and continued watching the movie. Halfway through I heard a car pull up in front of the house and the jingling of keys as someone unlocked the door.
"Who is that?" I asked Kodi looking down at her. She shrugged.
"I could be my mom, brother, or dad, but it's probably my dad." I nodded and continued to watch the movie. Soon There was knocking on the door.
"Hey princess you in here?" A man's voice, I'm assuming Kodi's dad said.
"Yeah I'm in here I watching Civil War with my friend." she said. The door opened and Kodi's dad walked in. I could notice the similarities between the two immediately. They looked exactly alike. Now I'm starting to wonder what Kodi's mom looks like. "Hi dad, this is my friend Zach." She said not moving from our position. I waved shyly as he nodded and smiled.
"Princess, have you replaced me, your best Marvel Movie Watching Buddy?" Her father asked jokingly. Kodi nodded.
"Yep he is way more cuddlier that you." She laughed. I just awkwardly chuckled not really know where I stand in this conversation.
"Ok, I see how it is princess. Anyway, I just came to check on you I have a few more hours at the office, but I'll be back in time for dinner." he said walking over to us to give her a kiss on her forehead. "It is was nice meeting you Zach, you are welcome to come anytime." shaking my hand.
"Same here Mr. Oliver" I shaking his hand. He smiled.
"Cut the formalities, call me Jason." He said as I nodded.
"Bye then, Jason." I said the same time that Kodi said,
"Bye dad." He smiled again and waved. Kodi mumbled under her breathe,
"Thank god it wasn't my mother." I turned towards her confused.
"Why are you glad is wasn't your mother?" I asked.
"No reason, it's just sometimes she can be a little carzy." She laughs nervously.
"Are you sure?" I asked her. She nodded and turned back towards the tv and continued to watch the movie. "You know you can tell me anything right?" I asked her. She looked at me and nodded.
"You're so sweet Zach, I'll be sure to tell you if something ever happens." she said and kissed my cheek. I blushed and turned back to the tv. The movie was on the scene when Captin America was trying to keep the helicopter from flying away by pulling towards the platform.
"Chris Evans is so hot." Kodi said watching the movie.
"He's ok." I said. Kodi gasped dramatically.
"He's ok? That's like saying Scarlet Johanson is ok." She said.
"That's true Scarlet Johanson is hot." I said just as my phone rang. I took it out of my pocket and saw that my best friend, Kyle was calling me.
"Hello?" I said after I answered it.
"Hey man, it's Kyle, are you coming to the party I told you about?" He asked. I didn't even notice how fast time flew by.
"Oh, probably not man, I'm busy right now." I said glancing at Kodi who was already looking at me.
"Oh are you with a girl?" He asked teasingly.
"Yeah, I'm with Kodi watch movies." I said looking at Kodi again who already turned back to the movie.
"Well have fun use protection." He laughed.
"Dude that's not funny." I said.
"Okay man, chill I'll talk to you tomorrow then. Bye."
"Bye." I said back.
"Who was that?" Kodi said looking up at me.
"Just Kyle. He wanted to know if I was coming to the party soon."
"Well, are you?" She asked.
"No, I'm fine here." I said shrugging. "Unless you want me to leave." I said nervously.
"No, no stay." She said. "In fact, you wanna see something cool?" she asked excitedly.
"Ok?" I said. She paused the movie and jumped off the bed. She put her shoes on and pulled me out the bed as well.
"Hurry put your shoes on." She said. I put my shoes on quickly as she pulled me out her room, through the house, and out the back door.
