Chapter 7: Alone?

3rd POV

Rogue has been avoiding everyone at school he even doesn't go back to the dorms. No one knows where Rogue even sleeps or if he even sleeps at all. In all of Rogue's games he is in top form and they win all of them. Rogue uses his right arm even more than before. This all keeps up for about 2 weeks so far. It's semi-finals already and it's Saber Tail vs Johzenji High and Aoba High vs Kamizaki Academy. Lucy was talking with all the girls and the girls kept complaining to Lucy to just make up with Rogue. Rogue was in the weight room and had his left sleeve rolled up. He was trying to make his left wrist a little more better for the game. Rogue had hidden his injury for 2 weeks. Sting, Natsu, Gajeel, and Elfman came into the weight room and saw Rogue doing weights with his left hand.

"I thought you said it was getting better. If it's getting better than why are you working out your arm?" Sting goes up to Rogue and asks.

Rogue was daydreaming and didn't even notice they were there til Sting came up.

"My wrist is perfectly fine. I just wanted to strengthen it a bit for the game tonight." Rogue says and puts the weight down. 

Rogue leaves the room and heads to the dorm to take a quick shower and get changed into his jersey.

"That is weird." Sting says but doesn't pay any attention to it.

6 P.M. at the stadium. Saber Tail vs Johzenji and Aoba vs Kamizaki play on two different court at the same time. The game is about to start.

#1 Makado Asamush is guarded by Rufus, #6 Taishi Komaki is guarded by Laxus, #9 Kaito Matsushima is guarded by Rogue and is the ace, Kazumasa Kawatabi is guarded by Gray and he is the captain, and #5 Hayato Izaka guarded by Jellal. Rogue was jumping for the ball again and once the whistle blew Rogue jumped a bit higher than usual getting the ball first. Rogue doesn't pass the ball but he runs past everyone in front of him. Coach Mavis wanted him to score the first point as soon as possible. It was only 2 seconds in the game and Rogue had dunked in the first 2 points. Makado passes the ball inside the court to Hayato. Hayato catches it and heads to the half point line. Hayato goes left and Jellal follows him, but the ball stayed where Hayato was bouncing for Kaito came and grabbed the ball and shoot at the free throw line. Rogue jumped and blocked Kaito passing it to Jellal. Jellal grabs the ball and runs as Hayato goes in front of him. Jellal bounces the ball between Hayato's legs and goes behind Hayato grabbing the ball and dunking it. Makado passes the ball to Hayato again and Jellal comes to cover him. The game goes on as a 1 v 1 against Hayato and Jellal. It became 3rd Quarter and they all left the locker room after a 10 minute break. They headed onto on court and it was Johzenji's ball. The score was 24-24. Makado passes it to Hayato and Hayato passes it to Kazumasa at the 3 point line. Kazumasa catches it and gets ready to shoot the 3 pointer but Gray jumps to block it. Kazumasa went a bit more lower instead of going up. Than he jumped up and hit Gray's body as he let go of the ball making it into the hoop.

"Basket count, 1 free throw." Referee says.

Saber Tail stays cool minded instead of getting hot headed about this. Kazumasa misses the free throw and Laxus and Rogue, Taishi and Kaito jump for the ball. Laxus grabs the ball with one hand and passes it to Gray who stops at the 3 pointer. Gray went up a little and Kazumasa blocked Gray, but Gray took and step back and shot from there making into the basket. Kazumasa and Gray looked at each other seriously. After that it became a 3 pointer battle literally. They only made 3 pointers the whole 3rd quarter. It was 4th quarter and the 3 pointer battle kept going on. There was 30 seconds left on the clock and the score was 79-79. Gray had the ball in his hand. Gray never played a whole quarter only making 3 pointers so that was a lot of work for Gray. Gray's legs couldn't jump anymore and Gray was getting tired. His entire team let Gray do all the shooting for the whole 3rd quarter and 4th quarter. Gray got into a shooting position and Kazumasa jumps to block Gray, but the ball went higher than Kazumasa's hand. Everyone looks at the hoop to see Rogue in the air already as the ball connects with his hand and he slams it into the hoop. No body expected an alley-oop and they were all surprised. There was 10 seconds left on the clock and Johzenji has to score 1 more 3 pointer to win. The score is 51-79. Makado quickly passes it to Kazumasa as he jumps at the 3 point line just to be blocked by Gray, but Kazumasa actually passes the ball to Kaito who shot the 3 pointer making the score 51-52. There was 1.8 seconds left on the timer. Jellal grabs the ball and puts all his strength in his right hand throwing the ball straight down the middle of the whole court to be met with Rogue's hand. Johzenji didn't expect a hit right away in fact they thought they were going to win. Rogue jumps but Kaito jumps in front of Rogue blocking his way. Rogue keeps the ball in his hand as he falls from the air. Once his right foot touched the ground for 1 second he pushed himself behind the basket and through the ball. Everyone looked at Rogue like he was crazy. The buzzer went off and the basketball swishes into the basket. The score was now 53-52 leaving Saber Tail High as the winners. Even Rogue himself was surprised he made it for he had practiced doing it but it never went in. Rogue just thought it was luck. There was two very loud cheers. Rogue looks to the other court to see that Aoba High had won their game as well which means they will both be in the finals.
