Chapter 5

KATIE'S P.O.V

No. No. NO. This can't be happening. The monster I call father is standing in the Cullen's house. We are all frozen. Jacob puts his hands on my waist and pulls my back against his chest in a protective manner. James (My father) is breathing heavily. He stomps up to me. "YOU LITTLE BITCH." he yells. Jacob growls. "HOW DARE YOU RUN AWAY FROM ME." He screams. I wince and step backward. "YOU ARE COMING WITH ME NOW." he yells. "No." Jacob snarls. He pushes me behind me. "Don't you dare growl at me." James yells. The Cullen's and the pack steps up. "Leave. NOW." Paul says threateningly. Paul has a good foot on James, but James doesn't back down. "Who's gonna make me?" Paul growls and starts to shake. "Paul." Embry says. He's going to phase. "Calm down." I whisper. Paul relaxes a little, but not too much. "I will. Now leave before I make you." Jacob says stepping forward. James huffs, but he leaves the room. A sudden rush of rage comes over me. A purple flame ignites and covers my hands. "Katie..." Jacob says, but I can't control myself. I blast James onto the street, and he screams out in pain. I lift him up and throw him on the ground over and over again. "Katie!" Jacob puts his hand on my shoulder, and I instantly calm down. The purple flame powers down, and I calm down. James is lying on the ground, unconscious and bloody. "Jasper. Help me." Carlisle says. The two lift him up and carry him into the house. I turn and face my group of friends. "Guys..." They look at me. Embry steps forward. "He deserved it. Don't worry about it." he says. I exhale. "Uh, no way. She literally just killed someone and you're cool with it? She's controlling you with her magic." Bella huffs. I turn to her with gritted teeth. "At least I have power. All you are is a moody teen who can barely pass high school without her daddy bailing her out." I say. Quil covers his mouth to hide his laugh, and the rest of the gang "ohhh" slightly. Bella huffs and walks away. "Bitch." I mutter. The guys laugh. "AHHH!" Bella screams, running at me suddenly. I roll my eyes and simply step to the side. Bella face plants into the mud and groans. Bella sits up and looks at Edward expectantly. He simply looks at her and she stands up. "Whatever." she says and walks away. She tries to play it off cool, but you can hear her discomfort and squelching. She holds her breath and gets into her truck. When she disappears, the pack takes off, and Jacob gives me a kiss. I laugh, and Edward laughs as well. "Why are you laughing? That's your girlfriend." I say. Edward sighs. "She's a bitch. But she's obsessed with me. I never invite her over, but she just comes over. Not even Alice likes her, and Alice likes EVERYONE." Edward explains. I laugh. "Why don't you just dump her?" I ask. Edward sighs again. "I wish I could. But she knows about the vampire stuff. She just told the volturi the lead vampires- that she would become a vampire. We NEVER agreed to that. And now I don't know what to do. She tells me she loves me, and that we'll be together forever when she becomes immortal, but I-I just can't. I don't want to spend the rest of my infinite life with a moody bitch. What do I do?" Edwards says all at once. I'm taken aback. I didn't know Edward felt this way. "You're in a tough spot, Ed. If you breakup with her, she'll probably kill herself. But she also knows about vampires. Either you or the volturi will have to kill her if she doesn't turn." I say. Edward sighs. "I hate her enough to kill her." he says. I laugh. "And, she also loves Jacob. She thinks the whole world revolves around her. She thinks there is a HUGE drama between all 3 of us. But there really isn't. Jacob doesn't love her, and neither do I." Edward spits. Hearing that Bella loves Jacob makes me mad, but I push it aside. "Hate to break it to you, Ed. But you're going have to either turn her, or kill her. I mean, if you turn her you can always dump her after." I say. Edward nods. "I'll tell her tomorrow." he says. I pat his back. "Good luck."
