It has been months since he was all gone.
He does not come back which he'd made promise for,
Makes her remember how she was blessed upon;
Elizabeth's sorrow grows intensely more and more.
Her dad comes and cuddles her warmly;
Gives her the books that Bernard had presented,
And says, "Don't worry he'll come back obviously!"
"Are loved ones ever deserted?"
"He knew how to impress the one like me,
The way he bought these books."
"I have read them, why don't you try sweetie?"
"I think this one is as best as it looks."
Father wants to see her escape from heartache,
Reason why he gives her those books to read.
Elizabeth keeps only one of the books just to fake,
And, pretend, that from sorrows, she will be freed.
She reads some chapters time by time;
Suddenly ponders over what has been read so far.
Something feels strange as readings climb;
Her eyes are popped and heart beats fast.
"But what did she read?"
In the meantime, her mother reads a news,
It was about Bernard's book launch.
As Elizabeth hears this, she has no clues;
She immediately decides to attend this launch.
Next day, she appears as a surprise for Bernard --the writer,
But looks like Elizabeth is more surprised.
She can't believe to see him with the other girl,
And the way she is despised.
Elizabeth has tears in eyes and asks about the book,
It tells same story and memories which they made;
He denies and tells that he hasn't given such book,
And says, "It looks pretty old and its colours fade."
"Elizabeth thought book had just an ordinary love story,
But everything written in that book happened with her.
Elizabeth was startled by this mystery;
She couldn't understand what emotions transferred."
She says, "If this book tells our story, she is your fiancée,
Tell me I am wrong and save me from broken."
He looks at her and says, "You're right what you said."
"Every word is true what you have spoken."
Elizabeth learns that it's now over. He betrayed.
Bernard comes near her and says something,
Putting her in state of immense heartache,
And, at her, he throws their engagement ring.
Slowly she moves backwards, and suddenly
Elizabeth runs away carrying the broken heart,
And she is in great shocks thoroughly.
She cries a lot and tears that book in pieces apart.
"Bernard gave her father some books,
but this book wasn't among them.
Whose book was it and
how did it reach to Elizabeth?"
