She seemed lost in deepness of thoughts;
And she was looking all alone,
Edmar was putting some books in order,
He noticed, but to the matter, he was unknown.

Elizabeth drops books while putting them upstairs,
Edmar hears dropping sound and rushes down there,
He spots her helpless on the floor; and she has tears,
He takes her up gently and shows her a lot of care.

How her dreams and wishes were destroyed,
She tells him everything about her and Bernard;
Inside Edmar's mind, it hit like an asteroid,
And hearing all this, he was totally shocked.

Edmar consoles this helpless beautiful girl,
He says while taking her out in the fresh air,
"If you are in deepness of ocean, then find pearl."
"You only need to do now is to wipe your nose, dear."
She laughs out loud at this humour.

Next day they have lunch; they are in their bookshop,
Edmar looks at her and asks who her best friend is,
Quickly she says, "You are."
Then she looks down; and she blushes.

More and more care for Elizabeth, as she perceives;
Perhaps, Edmar is going to cross some limits
Because that's not kind of care that a friend receives;
And the way Edmar keeps presenting her gifts.

So one day Elizabeth tells him to stop doing;
And tells not to show such care at all;
For this, first time in friendship, she starts arguing
Because, in love, again, she doesn't want to fall.

Edmar asks about her changed behaviour,
She says, "Don't show me that much tenderness."
He says, "Why does it look to you such bewilder?"
"Taking care of best friend is happiness."

Elizabeth tells him rudely she'll end this friendship;
Edmar has silence; he utters nothing but says, "Fine."
She now thinks she might have lost a fellowship.
There has to be some twist in this storyline.

Edmar does not talk to her all the day;
And then he leaves without meeting the Queen,
He is spotted leaving and dropping a book all the way,
She takes that book; and decides to give him
When he comes back tomorrow as routine.
