"Is there a problem, mame?" Rasheed asked my mom, wearing a huge smile on his face.
"Are you the manager?" My mom asked with her middle eastern accent.
"I'm the managers son. My father is not here today." He nodded taking a quick glance at me.
"I have this coupon-"
"Mom please it's just a coupon, let's leave." I pleaded looking back and forth between my mom and Rasheed, who's trying his best to hold his laughter.
"No! Enkhersy (shutup)." She threw her arm in the air. "I'm positive this coupon works!" She shouts.
"Okay mame." Rasheed signaled with his hands for my mom to come down. He turned towards the cashier and whispered something in her ear. He nods towards her and leaves before giving me a last glance.
"Where are u going?!" My mom shouts.
"Mama! Khalas (stop it) your so embarrassing!" I shouted.
"Here u go mame, six dollars off of your purchase." The cashier faked a smile giving my mother her coupon back.
"Oh really!" My mom's mood changed completely and she smiled wildly. "Thank you!" She takes the coupon back from her hand.
"Ya Allah mama! (Oh my god mom)" I shout throwing my arms in the air and walking out of the store.
How am I supposed to confront Rasheed now???
The next day
God! I hate school! Especially when you u have a annoying teacher, who can't survive a day without giving us something to learn.
Alisa is so lucky, she barely takes anything in her other classes. What's annoying is that all the classes we have together are the classes with the worst teachers. So we barely are able to chill in class and have some fun.
The bell finally rang and I rushed immediately out of the class to meet Alisa in our usual spot.
While I was waiting for her I spotted Rasheed walking towards the cafeteria with his friends. I quickly turned around so he won't see me. I can't confront him after what happened yesterday, that was so embarrassing.
God mama(mom) why do u this to me?!!
"Hey, Reema!" Alisa hops throwing her bag next to me.
"Hey" I said nervously while my back is still towards her.
"Why the hell are u standing, facing the wall?" She asked placing a hand in her hip.
"B-because don't u think walls need some attention? So I'm giving them a bit of attention." I laughed nervously.
That's when silence surrounded us, only the sound of the other students. I felt a hand on my shoulder and that's when I huffed frustratedly again.
"Alisa why won't u join me, huh? I swear walls are better then people." She didn't say anything she was still quite but her hand was still on my shoulder. "Alisa??" I turn around slightly and that's when I embarrassed my self for the second time this week.
"R-Rasheed?" I asked turning around and adjusting my clothes. My face heating up from embarrassment.
"Walls?" He asked laughing and shaking his head.
"Well-ya-may-sir-s-sorry." I ran out of words to say. Great Reema! just great!
But at that moment I realized that Alisa wasn't there, where did that kalba(dog) go.
"Your funny." He smiled, his blue eyes shining.
"Thanks??" It came out more as a question than an answer. I wanted to change the topic completely before he brings out anything from what happened yesterday.
"H-how are u and Alisa?" I asked.
"What do u mean?" He asked cocking his head to the side.
"How are u both doing? I hope u both are happy together?" I asked, not making any eye contact.
"What do u mean 'are we both happy together'" he got even more confused.
"Aren't u both Dating?" I asked finally making eye contact.
"What? Me and Alisa? No!" He said shaking his head.
What the hell??? Didn't Alisa tell me they're dating?? Good! Now I just embarrassed my self for the third time today! Break a world recurred Reema!!
