Reemas pov
"Reema? Did u place the sweets on the table!" My mom shouted from the kitchen.
"Yes mama!" I called back and rolled my eyes. She's been making me work the whole day today.
She made me clean the chandeliers, all the floors, I swear I wouldn't have been surprised if she told me to clean the walls as well!
We heard the door bell ring and the lump in my stomach immediately grew. I heard the sound of my dads footsteps and he immediately headed towards the door.
"Get inside." My dad told me. I nodded my head nervously and immediately walked towards my room.
God I hope everything goes well...
Rasheed's pov
"Im so glad you came with us." My mother sighted in relief, talking to my uncle.
"Yeah, just doing my job." He said dryly with his eyes focused on the road.
My uncle as you could all tell hates me. Or I should say "despises me". Of course he's my uncle and he's the one that's taking an eye out for me after my father passed away, but it sometimes gets annoying. Like I get it, I'm a piece of shit.
"I'm just curious to know who's this girl. I swear badger if your going to bring a sharmootah(bitch) to my house, I'm going to throw you both out of the window." My mom warned.
"Mom I promised you you're going to love her, just trust me for once, please." I sighted frustratingly. I'm already sweating so bad from this stupid tuxedo that I am wearing and now these two are making me sweat even more! God give me patients.
A few minutes later, the GPS stopped us in front a house. The house was a medium size but still a good size for a family like Reemas. Due to the fact that they're only three people in total.
We all walked out of the car and headed towards the door. I grew more anxious and my palms began to sweat mischievously. My uncle pressed the door bell and we waited patiently until the door cracked open revealing her dad.
"Alasalamu Alaykom, etfadalu( hello, welcome)." He said moving out of the way to allow us in.
"Walaykom elsalam." My uncle and mom said in unison and stepped inside the house. I followed behind him and extended my hand to great her dad. He took my hand politely and shook it.
He lead us all towards the living room and we all found a seat on one of the couches.
"So Rasheed," her father smiled taking a seat on one of the love seats in the room. "What do you do for living? Do u work at anyplace? Or what are you planning to do for your future?" He asked sincerely resting his back on the back of the sofa.
"Well," I coughed awkwardly not knowing what to answer him with that question. How stupid could I be, how could even forget that he's going to be asking me questions like these? " by now I still don't have a job and I haven't thought about what I wanted to do for my future." I answered honestly waiting for him to stand up any second and just guide me out of their door.
"Oh, I see." He nodded his head examining me up and down slowly with his eyes. The tension grew until out of no where Reema came with the coffee. A smile immediately met my face and a cute blush colored her beautiful toned cheeks.
She offered coffee staring from my uncle then her dad. Then eventually me and my mom. She placed the tray on the middle coffee table and took a seat on the other Love chair next to her father. She was playing with her hands nervously which made a smile creep on my face. I spotted her dad look at us out of no where and I immediately shifted into a serious and gentleman face."So how is Rasheed? How do you guys see and describe him as your son?" Reemas father asked again which brought tension back in the living room.
"Well," my mom shrugged dryly which made my eyes widen in surprise. "I'm going to be straight honest with you guys, because I wouldn't want my daughter to marry a man that is no good and my son I could tell you is in that definition." She said. Reemas eyes widened In surprise and her dad adjusted him self in his seat waiting to see what she was going to say next.
"What do you mean?" Her father asked curiously cocking his head to the side questionably.
"In other words my nephew is the latest person you'd ever want your daughter to marry. I don't think you'd want a guy that smokes weed and drinks every night. " She said more sterlingly which made their eyes widen in shock. My face shifted towards her and I have her a glare. She grabbed her purse from right next to her and stood up immediately. "Please excuse me." She nodded respectfully and immediately walked towards the door and walked out of the house.
Her dads eyes immediately turned towards me and he cocked his head to the side questionably. Reemas eyes met mine and disappointment filled them. She shook her head while still making eyes contact and she immediately stood up and fast walked inside towards the corridors.
"I'm sorry to say this but I think you should leave. You have nothing to do here in my house." Her dad trying to remain respectful yet the anger still flared out of his eyes.
I nodded my head slowly and stood up, heading towards the door. What am I supposed to do now? My aunt messed everything up, yet I still knew I deserved it. Because I should've explained it to her sooner...
