Chapter 7

TREVOR'S POV

I knew of only one person who would know who could've done this. And that dear readers, is Amelia's mother. I mean think about it, she had to have some help to make it seem like Cole and Adam were dead.

I hesitantly knocked on the door as I contemplated if I should really talk to her. Suddenly the door was opened and my eyes flicked up to meet Amelia' s mothers eyes (her name is Connie). Her icey-blue eyes widened in surprise and she said, "Amelia is in her room. You can go ahe...."

"I'm not here for Amelia. I'm here to talk to you," I interrupted. She gave me a questioning glance as she let me in. I took a seat at the table. "Would you like anything to drink?" She asked. "No, I'm good thank you," I replied. "Are you sure, I have..." She started.

But I again interrupted, "Cut the crap Mrs. Carter. I know that Adam and Cole were still alive...umm until this afternoon,". " What????" She whispered-screamed. So I told her what happened earlier today. By the end of the story, she was sobbing her heart out.

"It's all *sniffle* my fault *sniffle," she said glumly. "Look, do you have any idea who could have done this?" I asked. She paused for a moment and tried to think. "I cant..I don't know Trevor. Why would they do this?"

I slowly pulled the note I got earlier out form x and handed it to her. As she was reading it, I spoke, "Whoever killed them knows about Amelia and I. They weren't just after them,". Then the waterfalls came again, "Please protect my *sniffle* baby!!! " she cried.

"I'll do everything I can Mrs. Carter." I said. I then got up and started for the door but was pulled back by a hand. " Please fix her. I want my Amelia back.," she murmured. I yanked my hand out of hers and spat out, "Amelia isn't broken, she's hurt. She doesn't need fixing. We all make mistakes Connie, but yours cost you the lifes of two people."

I quickly made way for the door and ran out to my car. When I got in I put my head on the dashboard and thought. I loved Amelia (more than friends) since I stopped believing in cooties. But I can't tell her. I...ummm..just need to be there for her as a friend.

AMELIA'S POV

After a few hours of homework, I made my way downstairs. I flicked my head up to see my mom sobbing on the table. I rushed over to her and tapped her shoulder. "You alright mom?" I asked worriedly. "Yea uhh just stubbed my toe, think it may be broken."

I looked down at her bare foot to see perfectly-fine toes. I gave her the 'really mom look.' "Okay fine I didn't want you to know but umm it's ummm menopause mood swings. Yea those," she muttered. Bullshit. But since I knew she wouldn't tell me I headed towards the kitchen to eat the leftovers from dinner.

Yet again, my phone buzzed. 'He knows you like the back of his hand. While you are just to clueless to see, maybe he will be dead before we remove your blindfold hehe.

X ;)'. Okay this is getting really creepy. I have to tell the only person I trust right now, Jared.

JARED'S POV

After stopping at Amelia's house, I made my way back to the area where I found Cole and Adam. I need evidence before the police come. Jogging out of my range rover, I approach where Adam and Cole are.

Suddenly, I hear whispers, from two people in black hoodies. They both were males. "Job's done boss," the heftier one said as he took a huge wad of cash from the other one. The two men then disappear into the night. Maybe that was x.

My phone buzzes, 'Jared, we need to talk' from Amelia. Then another one, 'C'mon Jared, you know I'm smarter than that. By the way I gave Amelia hints ;). You should thank me, I got the other bozos out of the way.

Next day at school

AMELIA'S POV

Jared links arms with me as we walk through the halls. I give him a questioning glance but he stares emotionless ahead. Ever since yesterday when I told him about x, he always is around me or has an eye on me

Jared's phone goes off and he excuses himself to the bathroom. Hmm that's weird.

JARED'S POV

I quickly lock the stall and sit on the toilet. I then open up the message. The thing I saw next on my phone caused me to drop and shatter my screen.............
