Chapter 5: The First Day of School

Amelia's POV

"Beeeeep, Beeeeeep, Beeeeep," my annoying phone went off. I lunged for it and tried to press the snooze button. But being my clumsy self I fell completely on my forehead. "Ahh, fu..." I started. "Amelia.." my mother taunted. Wait, how the hell did she get here? Creepy much?

Since my mom was the frickin' Grim Reaper in the morning, I slowly got up and went to the bathroom to do my crap. I mean really, do you want to know what kind of facial cleanser I use? Because that's just plain creepy. After a long shower, and a whole lot of contemplating about my life, I left the warmth of the steamy bathroom.

If you must know what I'm wearing to school, I guess I should tell you. I had a dark purple sleeveless blouse and white jeans. I topped it off with black gladiator sandals. Feeling a little okay about myself, I decided to add a star necklace and a nice hobo bag. I even side-fish-tailed my hair today. For makeup, I went with a natural look.

When I turned around and looked into the mirror, I felt.... beautiful. To be honest, I haven't felt this way in a very, very long time. My blue eyes seemed to glow with fake happiness, while my hair and face looked genuinely pretty. Suddenly my phone buzzed. Well that's really weird because I deleted everyone's number when I moved here for a fresh start???

'I'm picking you up, Trev.... p.s. I sneaked my # into ur phone'. Well okay, I guess that's fine. Under those rock- hard abs and player personality, Trevor was a great person. He really hasn't changed since we were little. I smiled, and headed downstairs. On the way down, I bumped into Derry. He grinned at me but there was something in his eyes that I just couldn't get, maybe guilt or I don't know sadness?

"You okay Der?" I asked worriedly. "Yea, perfect," he said as he grinned, showing me his pearly whites. As I headed downstairs, I smelled pancakes, I dropped my bag and ran. And no, I'm not one of those girls who eats a granola bar for breakfast. I am blessed with a bottomless hole for a stomach. But no matter how much I eat, I never gain weight!

After a countless number of pancakes, Trevor knocked on the door. I groaned, and grabbed my bag and gave my parents and Derry a kiss before heading out the door. I opened the door to see Trevor looking as flawless as ever. as he looked up at me, he not- so-subtly checked me out. I know what youre thinking. 'OMG, YOU GUYS ARE SO PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER'. Yea no. I find this hilarious because both Trevor and I know we both are just friends.

I hopped into his black mustang as we zoomed off to our new school. As we approached the parking lot, all eyes were on us. I wondered why. wait, nevermind...the two new kids in a mustang arriving together, sounds shady. We exited the car together and I took a look around. Have you ever seen the movie Mean Girls? Well, there you go, this frickin' school was the reincarnation of it.

Peoples stared as I nervously walked with my head held high. Trevor and I went inside the office to receive our scheldules. Sadly, we only had one class together which was math. "You want to go outside and converse with others?' he asked. I nodded, but I shuddered at the thought of listening to people blab about seeing each other again.

As soon as we walked out of the office, wolf whistles were thrown our way. I gave Trevor a questioning look as he leaned in and whispered, "Theyre for you Mel, you're stunning." His comment got me blushing like a tomato in record timing. Suddenly the first period bell rang and I headed off to P.E. as Trevor went to English.

"Hey babe, are pretty boy and you together," a boy with black hair and brown eyes said. Suddenly, he reached for my ass. "I strongly suggest you don't do that or I'll make sure your baby makers will never be the same again," I retorted. "Feisty, that's how I like em'" he whispered. "Fuck off, man," a boy said with emerald green eyes and brown hair said. I smiled and muttered a thank you while I entered the locker rooms.
