"Connie, can you get that er- what do you call that thing?" Sarah asked.
"A hammer." Connie reminded, and handed the closest hammer. Sarah has a hard time... getting used to her surroundings.
"Oh, that's right, yes."
"McKay, do you really think having Sarah help is a good idea?" Taro whispered, acknowledging the fact that Sarah was trying to paint the walls with a hammer.
"No... I don't honestly. But Sarah insisted."
"Hmm..." Taro looked over at Sarah, who literally had no idea what she was doing. He rubbed his forehead, and announced he was going to look for supplies.
"McKay, can you stop petting that adorably fat cat, and come help us? This is our home for now. We need to keep this like one!" Lia dragged me from my chubby fluffy baby boy.
Reluctantly, I got up, and started dusting things. I went down a hallway, and went into a room, which looked like the master bedroom. Two bookshelves were on each side of the doorway. Perfect place to start dusting.
I started with the left bookshelf, but soon, I found myself looking at books, rather than dusting. I skimmed through titles, and what looked somewhat interesting. I came across a really old book. I dusted off the side of the book to identify it, but there wasn't anything. I tried to pull it out, but before I knew it, I was falling to what I thought was my death.
[Josh's POV]
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
A scream rang in everyone's ears. I rushed down the hallway, to see an open door, and a gaping hole, looking like a secret trap door.I crouched down, and looked down the hole, to faintly see McKay, sitting on a pile of pillows.
"McKay! Are you okay?!" I yelled.
"Um, I think!" She got up, and walked away from the pillows. "Woah... you guys need to see this!"
"Hey, Connie! Come here!" I called.
"Yeah?" Connie came in. "I heard screaming, is everything alright?"
"Yeah, it's fine." I replied. "McKay just found a secret passage."
I jumped down.
"Wha- Josh! Wait for me!" Connie jumped.
"Wait, no! Connie!" She landed on top of me.
"Owwww!" I winced. "Connie!"
"Sorry!" She said in a non-apologetic way. She got off of me, and trailed behind McKay. It was a hallway with doors. 7 doors, and one at the end of the hallway. Normal, I guess.
McKay opened one. "Guys! It's a- oh..."
"What?" I got up, nursing my arm, probably now broken.
"They're... just rooms..." McKay walked inside. "Josh, Connie! You need to see this."
I walked in with Connie. It was a normal sized room, with a queen sized bed with a teal and black colored bed-set. Connie dusted off some pictures. "This looks like mom!"
That's weird.
"No wonder we found Dusk here." I looked at another picture. It was Mom, Dad, Willow, Issac, Rose, and someone else. So... they lived here.
"McKay, do you know this person?" I asked.
McKay walked over. "I think I recognize her... I can't put my finger on it."
"Hmm."
Connie called me over to look through drawers. I ambled over, to see an assortment of "teenager clothing," and cloaks, or what used to be cloaks.
Connie found a pair of starry leggings. "Oh, these look cute!""Connie, this isn't the time to look for clothes." I groaned.
"Fine." She grumbled, and folded the leggings up.
McKay walked out, and went to the room next to Mom's. I followed. I was blinded with how blue it was.
"This has to be my mom's room." McKay smirked as she picked up an old panda plush.
"Wow, McKay you're mom really likes blue." Connie came in.
"Yep." McKay laughed. Her eyes trailed off to a drawer not all the way closed, and she opened it. I looked over her shoulders, which was pretty easy, because she's short. She picked up a dusty journal.
[McKay's POV]
I dusted off the journal, to reveal an engraving at the bottom right corner.
Willow Davies.I opened it, to find little "letters" she wrote to her future self. Just about silly little things, like how Tidal flirted with Alex, and how Xi-Lan and Dusk scurried around.
"McKay, Josh, we should get going." Connie declared. "Everyone else is probably worried."
"If we can find a way out." Josh replied.
I stuck the journal in a bag I found on the floor, and carried it.
Connie stepped out and looked down the hall. "There's a door over there, but it could just be another room."
"It won't hurt to try." Josh and Connie walked over to it, and I followed.
Josh reached his hand to the knob, and opened the door. A spiral staircase stood in-front of us.
"Well, let's go, I guess." I said.
Josh and Connie carefully crept up the stairs, with me behind. There was a door up at the top, and Josh opened it.
"It's the master bedroom." Connie discovered. "This must be the closet."
We walked through, and I closed the door behind us. Josh pushed the book back. Out of curiosity, I opened the closet door. Just... clothes. Old clothes in fact. A good cover-up.
I stepped out of the master bedroom, and took a deep breath. You can do this, McKay, you can do this.
"So, Josh and Connie say that you guys found a secret passage?"
I jumped. It was Taro.
"O-oh yeah! It was rooms of the previous owners." I calmed down. "Our parents."
"Oh, I see." Taro replied. "Anyway, I'm gonna go see if Sarah has thrown up yet."
"Okay." I smirked. I looked down at the bag by my side. That journal has to be important... If not, Mom would have brought it home. It seems important.
A new thought appeared in my head.
Maybe something bad happened.
