epilogue: a year later

Mother Nature warned jack about returning but he took it more as a friendly statement as his feet landed down in the familiar town of burgess. Snow formed under his feet as he looked around to see that not much has changed. At first jack wanted to see the guardians but he was already in the town to stop by at the Bennett house. Jack flew up against Jamie's window and pressed his fingers on it to try and grab the boy's attention. Jamie looked over glancing then jumped to his feet; opening the window. "Jack! Your back finally!" Jack only laughed embracing a hug into the brunette "I said I'd be back, where's Sophie?" Jamie let go then shrugged slightly "at a friends place, so your staying from now on aren't you?" Jamie stared at jack now wanting a good response and jack simply nodded. "You know it.." jack explained everything that happened from the biggest to smallest of things until it hit midday. "I'd better go see the others.." Jamie nodded then hugged jack again , tighter this time and waved as the frost spirit went straight to the North Pole.

As jack entered it wasn't that different from a year ago. The yetis working as toys flew or drove around him. Still quite magical. A few elves and yetis stared at jack as he walked around very tempted to cause some mischief. "Jack!" A sudden voice boomed with a thick accent. A small pressed on his lips as North walked over to him and patted his shoulder "welcome back! How are you?" Jack smiled now making eye contact with North. "I'm doing well, thanks." Jack only realised that the rest of the guardians where around and smiled; even to bunnymund. Tooth was thrilled and quickly hugged the boy tightly before laughing nervously and letting go . Jack also laughed and smiled more to see that everyone truely missed him even bunnymund. He could tell in the slightest way that he missed jack.

"So sandy is sleeping I'm guessing? "

North nodded with a slight apologetic smile "he worked late last night.. we where going to celebrate your return but we realised we didn't know when you were returning " jack smiled with a slight nod and also explained ; most to North about what happened until darkness hit the land "I have one last stop before I return.."

Jack wasn't sure whether pitch would be happy or angry at jack since he was gone for just almost a year and another thought it his mind. Would he be at his lair or on the streets of burgess?. He sighed slightly heading down to the forest and going down the hole to find himself remembering the first time he fell in. Jacks first thought of where the older male would be was in the bedroom and that's exactly where he went first. He passed the kitchen area and made sure to look around in his way to the bedroom. Jacks eyes widened to see pitch just lying on the bed. Is he dead? Was the first thought he had as he started to freak out. "P-pitch?" His voice trembled slightly as pitch looked over, a mixture of surprise and something else jack could t pick out as the dark lord quickly got over hugging him tightly. "You took your time frost" jack laughed softly hugging back "well I'm glad you waited for me.. I think you'd just leave" pitch stared at jack to see him being quite serious and sighed under his breath, forming his lips into a small smile
