Ellie's POV

" shut up!" I laugh
" what it's true." Carter laughs with me
" okay that's hilarious." I wipe a fake tear " you want some cookies?"
" uhhh duhhh." He replies in the most girlyest way possible

I laugh and walk into the kitchen.
It's been a month since everything went down with Gabe.

I know crazy, right?

A month.

To be honest I kinda miss him. I miss are long talks, stupid pranks, and most of all I miss his presence. But I could never forgive him.. could I?

Carter and I have grown a friendship. We've become like best friends. But it's not the same as Gabe's friendship.

Oh my gosh Ellie, it's been month and you still haven't got him out of your mind.

But I don't think I ever could...

" cookies!!" Carter shouts
" you and your cookie loving brain." I roll my eyes
" what you don't like cookies?"
" nope.. hate them."

Carter drops the cookie in shock, and rushes over to me. He puts his hand on my forehead and checks my pulse.

" are you even human?"
" nope I'm a alien sent from Mars to kill all who loves cookies."
" whaaat?"
" carter I'm kidding, I love cookies."
" oh thank god. I mean alien I can handle. But not loving cookies, id walk out."

" then why didn't you.."
" okay that hurt.." he point to his heart " right here."

I laugh at his stupidity.

I remember when Gabe and I would act stupid. It was the best. Once we were exiting out of a restaurant and he dared me to sing to a old man getting out of his car. The first the came to mind was 'Sexy Back' by Justin Timberlake.

So, the I yelled at the man singing,
" YOU'RE BRINGING SEXY, OH, THEM OTHER MEN DON'T KNOW HOW TO ACT." He got so mad, he got back in his car and left. It was the most hilarious thing ever.

Oh, how I miss those times.

Oh my god, here I go again thinking about Gabe. I mean who can blame me, he's my best friend.

I shake my head and laugh at the old man.

" what's funny?" Carter asks shoving another cookie I'm his mouth.

" just thinking."
" about.."
" nothing important"

He gave me a curious look, but shrug his shoulders.

" Aw shit!"
" what's wrong?"
" mom wants me home for dinner. And so I can babysit my neighbors baby. And she usually likes me to watch over her daughter too. She's hot."

" ask her out"
" what? No!"
" why?"
" cause she, I don't know. Anyway I gotta go."
" bye Carter!" And I heard the door click shut

" Ellie, your father and I made plans for us to go to the Knight's house for dinner tonight."

I look at her with surprise.
" um okay. Let me go get dressed."

Oh, what am I going to do, or wear?
I haven't spoke to Gabe in a month. I don't even know what he's been doing.

What if he told his mom? Or if she asked about me and he told her a lie to make her hate me?
