Brianna fidgeted with her bracelet while she waited for Madeline's door to be opened. Footsteps and clattering was all you could hear from outside. Once the door opened, the girl had no time to react before she was tackled in a tight hug.
"I can't believe you're here! Ohmygod!" Madeline said excitedly as she hugged her friend to death.
"Uhh..hey maddy. I kinda can't breath." Brianna managed to choke out before Madeline let go of her.
A wide smile made a way to her lips,"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm just so excited to see yo-" she wasn't able to finish her sentence because Brianna was the one who tackled her into a hug this time.
The two friends stood hugging on the porch of Madeline's house for a few seconds. "This is going to be way better than freshman year." She mumbled into Brianna's hair.
The two friends had met at one of their parents' work events in sixth grade. Madeline and her family had flown to the event since they didn't live there. But the two girls got along with each other so they kept connected somehow. For three years, they survived off texting, skype, and phone calls. That was until Brianna had finally convinced her parents to move closer to Madeline for the rest of her high school years.
Madeline and Brianna made their way inside the house. After she introduced herself to Madeline's mom, Brianna was dragged to Madeline's room. That's where they started their "All About Liberty High" lesson.
"So the guys who commented on my picture?"
"All jocks. Except for Clay. He's ...just Clay, I guess." Madeline shrugged.
"They're bad news types of jocks?" Brianna raised an eyebrow at her, sort of intrigued with the friends and acquaintances Maddie had.
Madeline thought for a bit before replying,"They date you to brag about it to their friends. They'll flirt with you non-stop. Catcall you in the hallways or wherever. And make dirty comments about you to one of their friends." She counted each one on her fingers but I the end shrugged again,"They're good for hook-ups though."
Brianna listened intently with a small smirk on her lips,"Why do you sound so experienced in this?"
"I haven't dated any of them if that's what you're thinking." Her chocolate brown eyes rolled at the assumption. "My other best friend, Ace, is also a jock and she's dated Justin before."
"Justin is..?"
"Basketball player. He commented on your picture. His @ is 'imfoley', Justin was one of the last people to comment."
"Hm. And who's Clay?"
"Best guy friend. Why?" She asked confused.
"Nothing, I like him. He's cool." Brianna laughed softly. "So what fun is there at school?"
"So 'fun' as in parties? Or 'fun' as in extracurriculars?"
"Both." She shrugged smiling.
"Parties. Well, jocks usually throw great parties, so do cheerleaders. Those two groups of people are usually the ones who invite the whole school soo yeah. Extracurriculars, well I'm in dance as an elective but there is also an after-school class on Monday's and Wednesday's. There is cheer, sports, clubs, tutoring." Madeline seemed concentrated as she tried to name all.
"I think I'm gonna join cheer." Brianna smiled widely at the thought of her in cheer.
Her friend across from her smiled back at her,"You should. You would get in without even trying." She chuckled.
"I will. I'm gonna make the best of these three years."
