"Liv do I seriously have to go for this?" Jared asked, one final time, although he already knew what her answer would be.
"Yes! You're my date! You have to be there" Olivia exclaimed from inside her bathroom.
Olivia was nervous because her ex-boyfriend Micheal, was showing up, with Kate as his date.
'Kate? Are you serious!? Of all the girls he could have shown up with, he picks the one girl who has severely annoyed and irritated us since before I even left America!? Seriously!?' were the exact words she had shouted at Jared, before deciding that she was going to stop caring and enjoy her day.
Drew was her dear friend and nothing would stop her from being there at his father's wedding.
Micheal Eddington, had broken up with Olivia once the news about her cancer spread to everyone else.
He, at first, felt sad that he barely knew her, and that she deserved better. He then wondered if Jared had feelings for her, and then decided he himself deserved better than a cancer chick and so walked away after a heated and messy argument with Olivia and the rest, who accused him of being a coward for running away so easily.
Jared was sitting on Olivia's bed, trying to fix his tie, when Ashleigh waltzed into the room, and plopped onto the bed beside him, looking absolutely amused at both, his annoyance of having to attend this function, and his failure at being able to acquire the ability to tie a tie.
She was wearing a dark blue dress that stopped at her knees. It had a sweetheart neckline and it had lace sleeves. Jared immediately thought that it brought out her grey eyes and that she looked very pretty.
'And I'm turning into a judge on America's Top Model.' he noted.
"It's just a wedding. There's cake and food. You're sitting with us. Why so glum-chum?" She asked him.
He was about to speak, and explain his absolute hatred towards the days plans, as well as give her a detailed account of why he was this 'glum-chum'
But before he could, she spoke again.
"Okay well, I'm here to let y'all know, since i'm Drew's date, I need to go there a bit earlier with him. So I will meet up with you guys there. Alright?"
"Okay" Jared said and shrugged. She then smiled at him, straightening up his tie and walked out of the room.
"I thought I heard Ash" Olivia said, walking out of the bathroom. She was wearing a red A-Line dress, which had studded embroidery in the top and was flowly till her knees below the waist line. She too, looked stunning, although Jared, who couldn't and never did understand the differences in dresses, felt Ashleigh and Olivia looked very similar.
"Yeah she walked in, said she will have to go earlier because of drew then ran out." He said.
"You fixed your own tie?" Olivia asked in amusement.
The thing was, no matter how hard he had tried, he never could actually learn how to tie a tie.His father had tried, Olivia's father had tried, even her grand uncle from Utah had tried. It never worked.
"Ash fixed it. You look nice by the way." Jared said.
"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself" she said and winked.
He just smiled.
Jared was feeling uncomfortable. They were on their way to the wedding of Drew's Father and he knew he was bound to meet his mother there.
He was slightly uneasy about the idea of bumping into her after over a year of not meeting her. She had run away and left him in an absolute wreck and it took him a long time to come back to his normal self. It was still a touch subject.
Olivia knew why he was this worried. She gently smiled at him and lightly squeezed his hand, grabbed her clutch and said, "I'll be by your side the whole time. Plus Jack and Ash will keep us company too. And Drew mentioned so many different cuisines that I am salivating at the thought of it!"
"Did you keep your medicine in your clutch?" He asked.
"Uh, I forgot. It's down in the kitchen though so let's go down" She said.
Olivia was to take two tablets a day, after food. It didn't matter what time she took it, but it had to be two. She always felt sleepy and tired after consuming it, which made her wish to avoid it as much as she could. It did help her enormously at sleeping at night.
She was scared herself after all. She had just gotten back to her life and suddenly everything had changed. Now she never knew if someone is being nice to her because they liked her or if it was because she was the cancer chick.
She hated sympathy. She always felt this disgust whenever someone tried to pity her and her condition. She would rather they try to make a knock knock joke about it.
"Knock knock
Who is it?
Cancer.
Cancer who?Knock knock
Who is it?
Cancer
Cancer who?Knock knock
Who is it?
Orange.
Wtf. Orange who?
Orange you glad it's not cancer?"Drew had made this pathetic attempt of a joke, while obviously copying the "banana" one and changing it to fit her situation. Although this made Jared annoyed and angry, it had somehow cheered her up extremely.
"Okay, meds in, heels on, sneakers in the car trunk and my tie is looking good. Let's go?" Jared asked. She nodded.
And out they went for a wedding;
Probably the last wedding Olivia Anderson would ever attend.
