Chapter Eight

After the heated fight between Drew and Jared, Drew had walked out of Olivia's house, leaving Ashleigh and Jared in the living room. 

Jared was holding his temple, seated on the couch, looking angry. 

"You shouldn't have provoked him J" Ash said softly, knowing that Jared was upset with himself. His past was dark and he was ashamed of it. 

"I had no idea he did most of that. I didn't know he bailed me out from those dealers in Kins, I didn't know Olivia asked for me and that he covered for me. I don't even remember driving the night after my mother left."

"That's because that's the kind of person Drew is. He hides a lot of his emotions. He knew you were going through a rough time and didn't want to add on to it. Plus, how could he tell Ollie the truth and see her heart break? He loves her." Ashleigh said calmly. 

"He what " Jared asked, astonished.

"Are you seriously that dumb? Drew has been in love with her since i can remember! " Ashleigh said.

"Then why does he act like he's into you?" Jared asked. 

"Olivia heard him tell Jack that hes into someone and he freaked out and told my name and then asked me to cover for him. that's why i was his date for the wedding too, but we never actually dated."

"And what about those dealers?" Jared asked.

"His brother knew a member, they settled it without involving you." She replied.

"And the almost drunk accident?" He asked

" You got drunk on cheap alcohol and he tried to get you home and you insisted on driving, almost drove into a tree. He hit your head with your baseball bat, you stopped accelerating because you were losing consciousness, and he shifted gear and pulled the handbrakes. Wasn't the best save, i mean he broke a rib and you had head injuries and shit but he did save your life." She said, smiling at the memory of it all. 

"Why the hell are you smiling?" 

"I'm thinking about how you deserved to be hit with a baseball bat." She said and grinned. 

He rolled his eyes and poked her side.

"I should probably go talk to him" he said.

"Trust me, I know Drew enough to know he wants to be alone right now. when he next shows up talk to him then, okay?" 

"Okay." Jared said. 

"I'm gonna go get me some cupcakes, if Drew saved any" Ashleigh said, getting up from the couch.

Ashleigh and Jared were watching, "The Duff" when Olivia called out for them, walking downstairs with messy hair and sleepy eyes. 

"Hey sleepyhead, we saved you a cupcake" Jared said, walking towards her, kissing her forehead and moving her to the couch.

"Where did Drew go?" Olivia asked. Jared looked at Ashleigh uncomfortably. 

"His dad called him for some work, he told he would be back as soon as he can and to not touch his cupcakes, but well, one cannot always get what they wish for can they?" Ashleigh said and laughed. 

"Oh, Okay then" Olivia said, looking unsure. 

Jared was feeling extremely uncomfortable and he didn't like it. he did not like waiting around for drew to show up to talk and apologize. 

"Guys, i will be going to the store and getting some snacks, clearly we are sleeping over tonight, you two continue watching and text me whatever you want okay?" Jared said, getting up.
