Chapter Ten

"Morning Sunshine, you managed to wake up two minutes before noon, world record!" Jared said, throwing a pillow at Olivia who had begun to stir amongst the pillows and blankets.

"Shut up. Where are Ash and Drew?" she asked.

"Ash is up taking a shower and Drew had to go to his dad for some work apparently, told he'd call you"

"And my parents?" She asked.

"Aren't back yet. Sorry" Jared said.

"It's fine." Olivia said and sighed.

"Hey, cheer up. They are absolutely crazy to cope with this whole situation by avoiding it. But more time for me to spend with my Liv, so I'm not complaining." Jared said.

"You sound like a creepy serial killer when you say it like that." Olivia said and giggled.

"Olivia Anderson is all mine, mine, mine" Jared said and grinned, almost tickling her.

"She happens to be mine as well so back off" Ashleigh stated and jumped on top of Jared, pushing him backwards. She then hugged Olivia and said, "Let's go to the mall today!"

"Okay!" Olivia said.

"Count me out" Jared said.

"But who's going to drive us around!?" Olivia asked, making a sad small face.

"How about we not go to the mall, but instead tick off another thing on your list by walking around town without the mall?"

Olivia grinned. "You just want an excuse to not go to the mall, don't you?"

"Is it because Angie works there? Or Jeremy?" Ashleigh asked, eyebrows raised.

"Who are they?" Olivia asked, confused.

"No one. Go get changed and let's go!" Jared said, giving Ashleigh a weird look.

Olivia rushed upstairs. Jared then said, "You know Mark's little shop next to the gas station?"

"What about it?" Ashleigh asked.

"Well, Olivia is going to be stealing Doritos from there, today."

"And how is she going to somehow pay for it?" Ashleigh asked.

"Let me handle that, are you going to come in your duckling Pajamas? Don't  get me wrong they look very sexy, but I don't think it's appropriate for this cold morning" Jared said and laughed.

"Jerkface" was all she said, and rushed upstairs.

After six hours, Jared finally pulled up on the Anderson driveway.

"I cannot believe what an amazing day today was!" Olivia squealed, munching on a packet of Doritos.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it sweetie" Ashleigh said, kissing her cheeks and getting out of the car.

"How did you manage to pay for the Doritos though?" Olivia asked.

"Mark is my cousin, he saw your silly ass running away, looked at me and I just winked. All done"

"So I didn't really steal, right?"

"Right. But did you enjoy the adrenaline rush it gave you?"

"Completely!" Olivia grinned, her lips covered with Dorito powder from the chips. She looked hilarious, and they loved her for it.

They were about to walk in when a scream could be heard, followed by the shattering of glass. Olivia froze. That was her parents shouting, but she couldn't comprehend what they were saying. She was about to run in when Jared pulled her aside near a window and they listened in.
