"Lydia!"
I looked for the voice calling my name as I push through the crowds of people through the front doors of my school. I almost got pushed to the floor as students ran to the long yellow colored buses. Thank goodness I didn't have to take the bus anymore or I would have never fit in the seats. I see Ashton waving his large hands frantically while he leans on the trunk of his Honda Civic. I wave back to him to make sure he knows that I saw him and that I'm coming.
"Hey Lydia, good job getting the outstanding Juniors writing award." A boy named Calum Hood said to me. Calum had black hair and he was quit attractive looking. He wore an oversized grey sweater with black ripped skinny jeans and of course black vans for shoes. I think he's friends with Luke but unlike Luke he talks to me sometimes. He was in the same grade as me but we've never really talked that much and hardly made eye contact. I felt weird about his compliment because it never really happens.
"Um thanks but I'm not so sure about this whole award assembly thing. I'm almost positive something horrible will happened while I'm going up to get the award." I shyly spoke to him.
"I'm sure you'll do fine, just smile and walk carefully when your name is called." Calum said smiling brightly at me. His smile was adorable.
"He definitely thinks something bad is going to happen to you, you're you."
"You're a pretty good writer yourself Mr.Hood. I heard you write amazing song lyrics." I told him to repay him for the compliment he said to me. But I did mean it. I heard some of his songs before and it was truly amazing.
"Thanks Lydia, but I had Luke to help me but he mostly came up with the music and I wrote the words." I frowned at the mention of Luke's name. I knew that he really love playing guitar. He used to teach me all the time when we were best friends.
"Hey tons of fun!" Me and Calum both looked to our left as a group of senior boys in a red truck drove past us slowly, yelling through a rolled down window. The rest of the boys inside the car were hysterically laughing with him.
"The world doesn't matter about your personality, it only matters what they see on the outside."
"Um sorry my ride is waiting." I said to Calum as we pretended that never happened.
"I'll see you tomorrow." He said but his smile was gone.
After Calum left I walked fast to Ashton's car so he wouldn't get impatient.
"You're late." Ashton spat out while we both got into the front seats of his car ignoring the seat belt because we both knew it wouldn't fit. Ashton's a really close family friend. I've known him longer then Luke but I've never really talked to him that much because I've spent all my childhood with Luke. But after Luke left me I started to get closer with Aston because it really didn't matter to him how I looked liked unlike Luke. Ashton has been driving me to and from school after I couldn't really fit in the school buses anymore.
"Sorry, I was talking to Calum." I told Ashton.
"Calum? Oh that guy that's really good at writing songs?" Ashton asked.
"Yeah. You should hangout with him. Drummer boy meets bassist." I jokingly said to him. Ashton really likes playing drums. It's almost like his job. He plays it whenever he can and he's actually really good. I would always go over his house and listen to him play.
"He plays bass? He asked stopping at a red light.
"Yeah, um he plays guitar with Luke." I frowned saying Luke's name and looked down at my feet. Aston knew what happened between Luke and I.
