(Alex's PoV)

I went to Texas with my brothers to see my mom, IT WAS A BLAST! i wish i could have stayed there… maybe i should take her up on her offer of me moving there…lately i've been avoiding Eric and Tiffany, which is actually pretty easy now, since they no longer go to my school, they are now going to a private school. My dads dating a new girl and its pretty serious… the weird thing is shes only 10 years older than i am. Shes pretty cool though, we went to her cousins graduation but i got sick. I ended up taking a 2 hour nap when i woke up i saw a couple girls around my age, one of them was Maria’s (my dads girlfriend) niece. still feeling crappy i went outside and tried Deviled Eggs for the first time… BOY ARE THEY DELICIOUS! I sat out there talking with Maria’s family and noticed Jasmine and Maria’s niece hanging out by the tractors. Slowly i walked up to them.

“Hey Jasmine!” I greeted.

“Hey Alex, this is my cousin Amanda.” She introduced us.

“Nice to meet you” She said smiling.

“Same to you… with you? i don't know” I chuckled.

“Wanna have a tug of war?” she asked as Jasmine was playing with my brothers.

“Sure!” I smiled.

“Ok, 1...2...3…” She counted down. It was a pretty even match but i slipped and fell. “YES! I win!” She exclaimed.

“Only because i slipped, plus i'm sick that doesn't count.” I replied.

“Ok i won BECAUSE you slipped, it counts but i'll give you the sick part.” She smiled.

“Fine but you owe me a rematch.” I challenged.

“Right now?” she asked.

“We can go again but our rematch rematch will be when i am feeling better.” I responded. We spent the rest of the time challenging each other to different stuff and joking around. We even exchanged numbers and took a couple photos together.

*Time Skip*

Its been a week since that amazing weekend, Amanda and i have been texting non stop. I was currently in the middle of reading a text from her when there was a knock on the door. Slowly i got up still reading the text, when i opened the door i saw the one person i have been avoiding… Eric.

“Hey.” I whispered.

“Hey? Hey?! Thats all i get? you've been avoiding me for weeks now and all i get is a ‘Hey’?” He yells.

“Eric lets go to the park, my dad is upstairs.” I said leading him away from my house.

“Why have you been avoiding me Alex?” He asks hurt in his eyes. We sit down, i remember what Tiffany said when i told her i thought i liked Eric ‘Don't ignore Eric, It'll hurt him’ Which is what i have been doing the last couple weeks. I felt a pang of guilt seep through when i saw how hurt he was.

“I-i-i think we should um… break-up” I whispered the last part, trying to hold in my tears.

“W-What? Why?” He asked.

“Oh come on, do you really think we are going to work out? We've been sneaking around our parents and i'm pretty sure my dad suspects something. Then theres Tiffany…” I started ranting but was cut off by a pair of lips smashing onto mine. At first i kissed back but soon realized what i was just trying to do. I pushed him away.

“Please Alex, don't do this?” He begged me with tears in his eyes.

“Im sorry but I-i can't lose another friend, let alone get caught by my dad and feel his wrath.” I apologize, tears wanting to spill over.

“But Alex…?” He started.

“No Eric, im sorry b-but we are through. I just hope we can be friends again, lets not throw away 6 years of friendship down the drain.” I said before walking back to my house, tears starting to stream down my face.
